Below is an article from the Portsmouth Daily Times.
It lists SOC 1 and SOC II selections.

Not sure about the missing goal, but I am sure that Valentine had three goals. Which of these boys will be playing in the District All Star game this Sunday?

All seniors that made 1st team all-district will be playing in the game. If a team didn't have a senior on 1st team then their top senior will be chosen to play.

Didn't see the list of 1st team all district. I think most teams only get one selection for first, one for second and one honorable mention. Who has the list and what teams play each other?

The teams are mixed. I believe the all-district teams will be announced at the game. Coaches should have let their players know if they are playing in the game. Every team did receive one 1st team, one 2nd team, and two honorable mentions. A few teams were awarded two 1st or 2nd team members.

I am told their are 22 players on each team, but there are usually a few no shows.

I understand that every team gets one first team and one second team selection----that seems very politically correct! I wish there was a better way to pick an all-district team or give out first team selections. It seems strange that an 0-16 team would automatically get a first team selection. I could understand better if they gave every team at least an honorable mention selection.

With that being said---congratulations to the seniors from South Webster who received all-district selections! We were fortunate to get 2 first team and 3 second team selections as well as 2 honorable mention selections. I guess we have to wait and see who got POY......

imo i believe there were some quality players that were on unsuccessful teams. i believe that is why every team gets a place. if sw got 7 places then whats the beef. maybe you were thinking the starting 11 should have a disctrict place.

RxBurgFan: I in NO way think that South Webster or any team should ever get 11 first team places.
South Webster had a great team this year----by far the best in the Southeast District in Division 3 in my opinion and backed by the scores of the games they played-----but there is no way they had 11 first teamers.......
I just don't believe that EVERY team has a first team all district player. There are 21 teams in the Southeast District in Division 3----wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to pick the best 11 players?
The next 11 then would be second team.

thats the one thing we all learn from sports is that life ain't fair. as an example the middleton boy of west portsmouth. he was a good player but no one around him. put him on sw and whamo maybe a district player. that's why i think teams should get a spot. maybe the awards should work like the soc and the district champs get the most and down from there.

You are definitely a worthy adversary!

I agree with the district champs thing by the way----if you take the Eastern District Champion out of our district! Our district is weird in the fact that one of our teams has to play the Eastern District Champion to win a championship. We were both beaten by the same team---just ran into them at different times.

The Middleton boy definitely was a good player and by his own merit could be a first team all-district player.

I agree svbt1112 that it's strange that the East is added to our district. If you look at the numbers of teams in the districts the Southeast/East had more teams

We had 21 teams in the southeast & they added 8 from the East to make 29 teams

Most other district brackets were around 20 teams. Looking at numbers it no longer makes sense that they are added to our district. Geographically it doesn't make sense either.
