Incredilble Ending To A Ball Game

Post by Burg_Grad_77 »

Watch the video and let's hear your opinion. Should the TD have counted or was the first guy down before he fumbled it backwards and was there at least 2 forward laterals on the play? I think the officials really blew this one.

No way that is a touchdown! The runner way down once and there was at least two forward laterals. Can't believe the officials allowed it to stand. But after watching some of the officiating this year I'm not at all surprised.

I'm fairly sure I would have gotten myself thrown-out and would have missed the next game also. But after kicking the ball deep (or at least as deep as he could) and high with 1.8 seconds remaining maybe he deserves to miss the next game anyway? That coach was just asking for something bad to happen by doing that and it did.

Now come on guys! You know refs NEVER miss anything or make mistakes. Even when the ref is ten feet away from a block in the back and pictures show that he was looking at the play (must do a lot of blinking in Athens). Surely anyone can see it's never the refs fault.

They are human, if you can do better, take the class, become an official.

Refs are human but also make a difference in the outocme of games. Sometimes it is intentional and sometimes by mistake. We have all seen refs that are obviously in favor of one team or another. Sometimes there is no denying that the refs wanted a certain team to win or the score to be closer.

Is it me or should there have been a penalty on the kicking team for too many men on the field? It looked like the whole team was on the field at one point. There also should have an excessive celebration penalty, too. There were players from the white team hanging from the goal posts and most of the team ran into the endzone after the touchdown. Yet, it looked like the two-point conversion play started from the three yard line.

I give refs credit. I would never, in a million years, want to be a referee. It's a thankless job. You are only remembered or known for messing up.

runner down, forward handing of ball,to many players on the field by both teams, and unc on scoring team, pat should have been from the 18 yard line, if TD had scored which it didn't.

Can you say" Screwed the pooch?"
