Lets put week 9 behind us.... Alex can spend the year crying about getting beat soundly by NY, but My guess is they are focused on winning this Friday night! There is no shame in second place. Maybe in another 30 years Alex will pick up win number 2.

Athens finishes the season 5-5 without beating a team with a winning record. Nelsonville-York moves on to week 11.

There was under a min in the half and I can bet the Alexander staff didn't call an onside kick in that situation. Jeez I'm glad we got your prediction early so I don't have to stay up for countless hours waiting on your post. Give me a break, you should be posting in the band section. This should be a great game with a lot on the line. I'm a fan of the TVC and wish both teams the best of luck. Hope this game is injury free.

Lay off on alexander, hater! You dont drink gatorade, you drink haterade! That'd be like saying alex beating nelsonville last year was a fluke. Or wellston beating jackson this year was a fluke. What if i said that nelsonville beating athens last year was a fluke? Lay off.

Alexander beating Nelsonville for the first time last year was a fluke, and it wont happen again for a long time. Wellston beating Jackson was also a fluke, that was Jacksons only loss, and look how bad wellston has done since then. But when Nelsonville beats Athens friday it wont be look how many years in a row they have, its called success other schools are jealous and hate Nelsonville because of how succesfull they are. They will bring home another tVC championship this week and put more paint on the wall. Go Bucks
Yea, im probably gonna friend this guy, because he seems to know what he is talking about. finally ONE person who backs me up, alex beating nelsonville for the first time in 40 years??? deffinetely a fluke, wellston beating jackson, fluke.....nelsonville beating athens for the (idk how many times) is deffinetely not a fluke

There's the definition, your qualification for fluke. I don't remember winning by chance or luck. The stroke of good luck was that the score wasn't even worse for nelsonville. I remember alexander holding nelsonville's derek arnold to under 50 yards and not letting up one point, dominating nelsonville, blocking a punt, kicking butt in the mud, and winning the game 21 to 0.
hahahahaha i do remember derek slipping more than 10 times that game, and i remember coming early to see coach arno hosing down the field?? :122246

Tall order for the Bulldogs. Was a tall order for the Buckeyes last year and they overcame. Will the Bulldogs be able to turn the tables on the Buckeyes? I hope so, but it will be difficult, but it was difficult for the Buckeyes last year. Go Bulldogs and good health to all.

When you look at the overall series it appears that it was a fluke. I know your proud to have been a part of something that had never happened before but you must admit in the realm of things when the series is 37-1-1 it really looks as though it was a FLUKE.

Athens has no answer for Justin Cunningham. NY by at least 2 scores.

Wow never knew the series was that bad. A D2 school can't compete with a D5 school...

Yes and Nelsonville will win this game and Athens will finish mid pack in the TVC Ohio, which is just where I said they would when everyone else was saying they would dominate the league within a few years of joining.

2009: Athens finishes (9-1)(5-1 TVC-Ohio) and shared a TVC-Ohio title.
2010: Athens is (3-1 TVC-Ohio) and is playing for another league title in week 10.

* Yea, that's really 'middle of the pack' kind of stuff.

In 08 they were 3-3 in the league. If they lose this week they will finish 3rd in a 6 team league. So, yes that is pretty close to the middle of the pack.

Actually, let me clarify my statement. When Athens was approved to enter the TVC Ohio, there were many people both on here, and out in public who said within 3 seasons the TVC teams would be sorry they let them in cause Athens was way too big for the league and would be dominating the other teams by the third season. I said they would not, and that they would on average finish middle of the pack, and would rarely beat Nelsonville. Then last year those people were already saying, "I told you so." Well, here we are in season 3, so I guess we will see who was right.

"IF'S" "AND'S" & "BUTT'S"

THE FACT IS: ATHENS IS PLAYING (OR HAS PLAYED) FOR A LEAGUE TITLE IN WEEK 10 - TWO OF THE LAST THREE YEARS.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

THE STATISTICAL BREAKDOWN BETWEEN NY/ATHENS IS UPDATED ON: http://trivalleyconference.com/TVCNews.html

BOTH TEAMS HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME OPPONENTS - SO THE COMPARISON IS ABOUT AS CLOSE AS YOUR GONNA GET IT IN ANY MATCH-UP.

* One curious side note: It's kind of odd to see ATHENS as the No. 1 rushing offense in the TVC-Ohio and Nelsonville-York as the No. 1 passing offense. Who would have thought.

I guess another way to look at the opponents is the record of the opponents you have defeated. with Athens it is 15 wins and 29 losses. For NY its 28 wins and 35 losses. with NY having 8 wins and Athens having 5.

I still think Athens is too big for the tvc. Until they get Jackson and River Valley in then split it they will never have a shot at the playoffs playing NY,Wellston,Meigs,Alex.. They need 3 or 4 schools their size to get in. Just about every year if any of the teams in the OHIO div win the league they make the playoff except for Athens. Need to get some bigger teams in and I look for NY to go to the hocking or a middle div if split three ways.

I don't think going to the hocking would be a good move for NY. To be the best you have to beat the best and no offense to the tvc hocking but I think nelsonville would win that league outright 9 out of ten years at worst. In the region nelsonville is in they couldn't get enough points to make the playoffs by winning that league.

Athens has 5 nonleague games to schedule teams that will get them points.

Nelsonville-York is one of the few schools in SEO that is growing so They would be in the middle division if that happens. An NY vs. Southern matchup would be UGLY

Yes and they are also playing to avoid finishing (or has finished) in the middle of the pack in the TVC Ohio for 2 of the last 3 years.

Also, as far as facts go, Athens Played Wahama in week 10 last year. So the fact is: it is D5 Nelsonville that is playing for a league title in week 10 again, not D2 Athens.

NY to the hocking????? what are you talking about? NY would DOMINATE the hocking, much much MUCH worse than they ALREADY dominate the OHIO, you are making no sense, seeing as how NY already dominates schools TWICE its size... :122246
