TVC-Ohio Championship: Athens @ Nelsonville-York
Re: TVC-Ohio Championship: Athens @ Nelsonville-York
I look for a close game. Defense wins championships.
I pick Athens in a mild upset. Good luck to both teams, and have a great game.

Re: TVC-Ohio Championship: Athens @ Nelsonville-York
It is going to be very cold come tomorrow night up in Buchtel. The ghost and ghouls will be invading Boston Stadium with two teams playing for two towns. With the host, they have already captured at least a share of the TVC-Ohio crown for the 2010 season. For the visitors, they come in looking to seize an opportunity that has been rare in Athens in the past, and that is trying to win back-to-back league championships for the 1st time in a long time...
Nelsonville-York holds the league championship trophy, they hold the Doc Kroner trophy, and both are very much wanted by the Athens squad across the field...
It's Week 10, but it feels like it is the NFL play-offs right now, and nothing would surprise me if I saw some snow flakes tomorrow night...
This will be a great game between two, solid football squads and both Coach Dave Boston (NY) & Staff and Coach Ryan Adams (ATH) & Staff should feel good about their respected teams chances...
Athens has let NY off the hook the past two years, not being able to close of the ball game, but Coach Adams is a winner, and look for him to instill some of his Bulldog Pride from his hayday into his players...
I remember Coach Boston's first game as head coach for the Buckeyes...it was a (35-6) loss @ the hands of my Bulldogs...and I respect the job he has done for the NY program, but I want to see him with that look on his face like I did during his 1st ever game @ the helm for the Buckeyes...
Good Luck to Both Squads
This is why this game is now and will forever be the Week 10 match-up!
Got get'em Bulldogs!
Hope for an injury free, hopefully warmer football night up the road!

Good Luck Athens, Come away with a much needed win. You have too many athletes on that Athens team to lose to smaller schools.
Re: TVC-Ohio Championship: Athens @ Nelsonville-York
Just from seeing his posts on Trimble threads he claims to be from both Newark Catholic, or at least a fan of NC, and also from Wahama. He has made it clear on many threads that he thinks Trimble and Nelsonville people are arrogant, and roots against them any chance he gets. He has even promised to give game films and scouting reports of Trimble to other teams. A real peach he is.NYBUX wrote:FANOSPORTS wrote:N-Y will get their 3rd loss next week in the playoffs wherever their travels take them. Have a great day !!!!!

I think a better statement would be you have too many athletes to choose from to lose to the smaller schools. We will put our best 11 out there against Athens best 11 and see what happens tonight. Div 2 against Div 5. NY will be ready!
We will display the league trophy again this year but as for the Doc Kroner trophy you can have it win or lose. Why does NY put it in a closet? Why not display it? A few years ago My soph. year at NY. We beat Athens at Rutter field and Jay Edwards asked if he could have his picture taken with Doc and the trophy, He flat refused! So take take your symbol of "not good enough to acknowledge" We just want the win.. Go Buckeyes!questionmark wrote:Nelsonville-York holds the league championship trophy, they hold the Doc Kroner trophy, and both are very much wanted by the Athens squad across the field...

Alright, 1.) I went to Meigs thru Jr. High, graduated from Wahama and regardless of what a few other posters on here say, they are in the playoffs, albeit in WV.NYBUX wrote:FANOSPORTS wrote:N-Y will get their 3rd loss next week in the playoffs wherever their travels take them. 2.) My current tax dollars go to the Groveport-Madison school district (on whose field NY won their state championship in 1981) who may make the playoffs again this year if they can beat Gahanna tonight (DI is a little tougher than DV you know).
3.) My Newark Catholic affiliations run through my co-horts at work who I've known for the last 20 some odd years as they either have kids playing, played themselves on some of their previous state championship teams or went to school there.
Anything else ?

DI should be no tougher for a DI team than DV is for a DV team I would think.FANOSPORTS wrote:Alright, 1.) I have a Brother whos friends uncles kid plays at Ursuline so I am always their no. 1 fan and they will beat all of FOS teams. I am also related to people of any team who makes it to the state finals so I dont want to hear this bandwagon crap when we get there. FOS= Crabs of TVC. Oh yeah, I bought gas in Newark and I am catholic so that goes without saying.

So what you are saying is that you have no real affiliation at all with any of the schools listed. You just like to climb on the back of who ever is winning and brag. You should take your negitive attitude, your Buckeye envy, and all the hatred of the TVC and GO AWAY!FANOSPORTS wrote:Alright, 1.) No, what i'm saying is just what my original comment said: N-Y will lose their 3rd game next week (no more, no less). Since when are alumni not affiliated with their high schools ? Anyway, my neices and nephews are students today at Wahama and my children go to Groveport-Madison so yes, I do have affiliations with these schools today. As far as climbing on the back of winners, both G-M and Wahama have been to the playoffs numerous times so your point there is also invalid. You guys on here really crack me up !!!!! Maybe if you'd look outside of your rose colored TVC glasses you'd understand what I'm saying but that'll never happen.
