Weight Classes / Team:
1st grade (or under) to 3rd grade- 40, 47, 54, 61, 68, 75, 82, 89, 96, and Heavy Weight 135(max)
4th grade to 6th grade- 58, 62, 68, 75, 82, 90, 101, 111, 126, and Heavy Weight 165(max)
-Your team is broken up by grade and by weight classes to equal one big 20 man team.
Mats: 6 Mats down and will use all of them when possible
Awards: 24 medals for teams placing in the top 4. A BIG team trophy to the top 4 teams. The first place team trophy is about 59 inches tall and then descending from there. We are looking at different options for the first place team (belts possible)
Tournament Format: 4 pools with 4 teams in each. The first and second placers in each pool will then come out into a 8 man bracket. If you lose in the first round of the bracket you are done for the day. The second round the losers will wrestle for third and fourth place. The teams that don’t place will wrestle one more time outside the pools. We will make sure every team wrestle’s four matches.
Rules: Will be 3 periods each period being 1 minute long. The rest is high school rules. We will also flip the disc at the beginning of each dual for odd, and even. Make sure you know the rules on that.
Can you bring more than 20 kids: Yes but there will be NO extra matches all day. You can substituted your kid into the line-up as you wish but make sure your following high school rules.
