Just to settle the debate of who played the worst schedule...

CalPreps had Eaton's strength of schedule at 4.9 and Jackson's at 4.7 ....
Compared to Columbus Watterson that had a 23.1 rating.
Cardinal Mooney had a 39.3 rating...
So 4.9 and 4.7 is too close to call. We both played a weak schedule...
It won't matter on Saturday night. When the kids take the field.

I think that's a good post, 92. Whether it's with only a pass rush from the D-Line, or with some type of blitz, the Ironmen absolutely have to put pressure on French. Eaton's passing game seems to be very solid, so the Ironmen can't let him stand back there and pick them apart.

The Ironmen love to play a ball control type of football game, and this week that is even more important. Keep the potent Eaton offense off the field, try to wear down their defense, and most importantly, finish off drives with TDs.

Special teams is a HUGE key to this game. Our kick coverage has been much better as of late, but it needs to be GREAT against Eaton. Absolutely CANNOT give up any easy points. Everything Eaton gets, the Ironmen better make sure they earn it every step of the way.

Southeastern Ohio football can not compete with anyone else.
SWBL is way too tuff for any league in Southern Ohio.
Too many state champions from Eaton's area.
Eaton scrimmaged 3 potential state champions this year.
Eaton can throw and run with the best teams.
Eaton is stronger and faster.
Eaton's players are smarter than the hilljacks from Southern ohio.
Eaton's coaching is far superior.

Guess all Southeastern Ohio teams should only play teams from their own area.
Sarcasm ? ? Please don't say the Eaton fans are cocky and think they already have it won...
I don't think anyone is saying that here. There have been many posts here also that seem to think Eaton will never be able to handle the huge and strong and fast Ironmen. Each of our teams fan's are excited about their teams.... It is OK to debate things as long as it is done constructively and nothing gets personal..

Ironmen 92 thats basically my thoughts as well....not to take anything away from the Eaton or Monroe team they may have been 6-4 but failed to bring home a W against any team with a winning record.
As for the game Sat. I look for Jackson to do their thing and execution is key
for the win were gonna need long drives that will eat up the clock and allow us to control the tempo of the game
avoiding turnovers and penalties that put us at 3rd and long are gonna be huge...
On D i think overall we can be successful it seems every game we allow a few big plays that account for most of our oppositions yardage thats something we need to eliminate this week the caliber of teams were gonna face from here on are gonna have far greater big play potential than most of the teams i believe we have played thus far
One advantage we need to be strong this week is our 12th man!
We need a huge turnout to support our boys and every fans needs to leave there with hoarse voices
A team should be fired up to play no matter whether there are any people there watching or not....that being said youd be a fool if you believed that on 4th and 1 that roaring crowd doesnt create a spark that helps motivate players to dig just a little bit deeper and come up with a stop..... So come on everyone lets leave Jackson as a ghost town Saturday night

Nobody is being cocky.

Nobody says they (either team) has it won

The boys play the game, and all the banter doesn't matter one bit in the end.

Yodiak...I think we should proclaim this game "The Battle of the Lines". Whoever wins the battle of the lines is probably going to win this game!

I think its great for both teams to get to see another team from the other side of the state in the first round. Jackson might not think its as neat as Eaton because of that bus ride, but it does make it have a certain feeling.

So talking a little football, I would be shocked to see Jackson put Winchester under center if he was on crutches a few short days ago. His mobility would be questionable at best. Hand offs are one thing, but pushing off on that leg on passes is another. Avoiding the defender is rough with a bum leg. I think he will maybe see limited action on defense, but if he is up to it, by all means play all night long.

There has been many players who have played with a torn ACL. The damage is already done and the brace will protect any further damage and restrict lateral movement. He will be able to play just fine, count on it! It just goes to show you the character of this kid, so just respect him for what he is doing. He will adjust to dealing with the pain.

Eaton will compete just fine with the Ironmen of Jackson. This game will be a great game that will take a teams best effort to win. I expect a battle and an exciting game that goes four quarters. We will have to see how we match up with their o-line and running game, we have options if we need them. We can go straight up man to man on their receivers, we faced much better passing QB's and receivers and have done pretty darn good going man to man on them. This will allow us to put another man in the box. They no doubt will have to prove the can pass first.

I have been told that there will be a shuttle for Ironmen fans who would like to park at the Eaton High School. This will probalbly be a good option for many of those who do not want to walk a long ways. We do want you to enjoy the community and atmosphere here in Eaton, Ohio.

I strongly hope that this complete display of uneducated comments is sarcasm.
This is just ridiculous. I could go on and on, but I'm just going to assume these are sarcastic remarks.

X-Factor - I was refering to Jackson's competition that I was not impressed with. Like you I feel that teams, at times, play to their competition. I should have explained my statement of "Not impressed", but the Jr High kid in me left it a little short for the sake of discussion. This is going to be a very fun game to watch.

As far as the Winchester boy...Ashland is a very good school. Sounds to me like he has a future playing ball somewhere. When it comes to education, I wish all kids the best of luck. There is no chance of further injury to his knee?

BlackJack sounds like a jealous fan without a home team in the playoffs trying to stir the pot up some to get bad blood going. Must be from a family that has a family tree like a telephone pole.....straight up and no branches. You good folks in Jackson will feel right at home here in Eaton. If you don't, shame on us for not being hospitable. "Hilljacks"? he makes it sound like being a good 'ol boy is a bad thing. 4x4's and turning the dirt for a living is the way of life out here. Come on out and enjoy the view.

Yodiak is right.....he ain't from EATON.

GO EAGLES!

All the parking around the field is on OLD side streets. You have to park directly on the streets. And the houses in that area are about 15 feet from the street so there is not much room around the field. I have heard others mention there will be a bus shuttle from the high school to the field which is about a mile away. Your best bet might be to tailgate in the high school parking lot. Does anyone from Eaton know if the school would have a problem with that (as long as there is not any alcohol). There is a park close by called Fort St. Clair, but I think it closes at dark. There is actaully another park that is about a half a mile from the field on Park Ave (the same street the field is on). It is close to the rail road tracks and it has an old water tower. I don't think there are any gates there so you would not get closed in. That might be your best bet. The park does have a shelter, but not much else. It is an old park, but it is clean and would be able to handle quite a few people (400 or so at least). Here is a link to the view of the file and the park is just north of that across the railroad tracks on the west side of the street. Look for a white dot. That is an old watertower.. The football field is just right of the baseball field.

Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions.
OOps, this did not come out like I thought.. You can see Park Ave on the link above just west of the middle of Eaton. Just zoom in on that area and will will find the football field. You could walk from that park to the game, but it is about a half a mile.

If I am able to go to the game, I got the best deal of all. My cousin who lives about 10 minutes from the football field has invited me to have dinner at their house and then to spend the night with them. Of course if I go on the bus, thats out. Too far to walk for this old lady. We are all so excited about this game here in town. The week seems to be dragging along. I just hope we have beautiful weather, a good crowd, and no injuries in this game. Also wanted to say good luck to our other county team the Oak Hill Oaks who made the play offs. To both teams, no matter the outcome, Jackson County and grndma-1, is proud to have watched and cheered for you this year. Now have fun and go get- em. :aaaaa83 :aaaaa83 :aaaaa83 :aaaaa83 :aaaaa83 :aaaaa83 :aaaaa83
