Re: D4 R15 #7 Alexander @ #2 Heath
Thanks OZZIE!!! Also, Congratulations to the Spartans for your sucessful back to back seasons. The two schools football history seems to mirror each other. Heath does not have a strong football history either. I like the pride shown by your fans. I really think you'll enjoy your trip and will have a real good experience. To all fans, drive safe and to the Spartans ...practice hard and stay healthy.
There are plenty of places to eat if you get to town early. SR 79 north off of I-70 is the quickest

There will be a larger preview in print on Friday. Also, The Post will be live from Heath Friday night. We'll be doing a live chat at http://www.thepostonline.net/sportswordpress with updates coming from both Alexander/Heath and Trimble/Shadyside. We'll have somebody monitoring the chat from Athens posting your comments, and live updates via Twitter coming from the reporters at the game. Check it out Friday night!

Don't know much about Heath so I will go with Alex in this one. Saw Alex play a few times and was impressed. A much different Alex team than in the past. I hope their program remains strong for years to come.

I like Alexander's chances. This team has a solid group of seniors who got their feet wet last year at Amanda in the first round, so the shock factor shouldn't be present this year. Offensively, they give you a lot of looks and have excellent personnel in the skilled positions (Chapman, Lawson, Bennett). On defense, Coach Hinton will have them prepared and he can give you trouble with the variation of schemes he'll throw at you.
Good Luck to the Spartans!

Re: D4 R15 #7 Alexander @ #2 Heath
I'll try and give some stats that I took out of the local paper pertaining to the Bulldogs.
Passing:
Cole Benner 66-of-114 / 1,053 yds / 12 TDs / 5 INTs
Rushing:
Cole Benner 113/744 (6.6 ypc) 12 TDs
Donyell Simpson 123/805 (6.6 ypc) 8 TDs
Brian McDanial 81/545 (6.3 ypc) 8 TDs
Receiving:
Zach Wolfe 20 catches / 389 yds / 19.5 ypc / 8 TDs
Evan Fry 20 catches / 327 yds / 16.4 ypc / 2 TDs
Heath lost their 1300 yd rusher from last season in game #1 (season ending) and have split the carries at the tailback position with sophomore Simpson and senior McDaniel. Benner has also made up for some of those lost yds from last season.
The defense returned 10 starters from last season and the unit is spearheaded by 220lb LB Travis Drumm. The defense has been a strength all season and yields about 11 ppg. Many of these were given up in blowout wins when reserves were playing.
The weakness of this team is turnovers. They have and they will put the ball on the ground and I assume that this could be their eventual downfall.

Heath is better in open space and beating blocks... They have fantastic team speed, but are not too big
