It is time for a coaching change. The basketball program has been down lately. When ever a program is down be it basketball football whatever the numbers will go down too no one wants to work their butts off just to get beat. The coach had a good run with alot of talent if he was as great as he and a few others think he is he would put a winner on the court every year. Not just when he had a bunch of talent.

The Wellston Basketball Program has been down. There is no question about that. But I do not think that has anything to do with coaching. This year they will feature 3 soph. 3 jun. 1 senior to be there top 7.....these are the best Wellston has. Whether they are extremely talanted or not, when competing against senior led teams you are the underdog.. I have seen a couple scrimmages. Gallia, Fairland, eastern Meigs..All 3 teams are senior led, and Wellston improved each time, and are becoming a very solid young team.. Whether a coach is great or just avg. it doesnt matter. When I played in high and college, you play because you love it regardless the coach,

The 2010 Wellston Golden Rockets looked like a very good team Friday Night topping TVC-Hocking's Federal Hocking 36 - 21 in their preview game at Athens High School. The preview consist of only 2 quarters. The Rockets are still a young team, with a lot of work still needing to be done..Good Luck Rockets

Look to see a good crowd on hand tomorrow night for the foundation game against the Minford Falcons. Should be a really good game between the Falcons and the Rockets.
