9 bucks for playoff tickets

Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

Kentucky is charging 5/6 per ticket for their playoff games.

Has the price made anyone decide not to take in a game that your team is not playing in?

It has me. I am only taking in Newark Catholic games.

NCF - OH$AA - It is always about the cashola, unfortunately. I will probably go watch Burg play Fredericktown, but that may be it for me this year.

Another question about the OHSAA. I was told at the gate by the ticket takers that there were no programs for the game between Burg and Ridgewood because the OHSAA wouldn't allow it. What the Hell is up with that? I have always gotten a program at the playoff games for a souveneir. He told me they wouldn't aloow them to sell them because they would be making a profit and yet they have the audacity to charge $9 for a ticket. Dan Ross should be ashamed of himself.

Did this happen at all the 1st round games?

we had what I would call a leaflet that had a pic of both teams on the cover next page was our roster the next was malvern's roster and then a back page of some advertising. not a program by no means.

There were programs at the Ironton/Coshocton game. I dont think there is anything in the rules about having programs.

Tickets are cheaper if you buy them in advance.

I did it last night ncf. My wife and two children 20 and 16 went to the Ind/Iowa game yesterday and decided to stop in Eaton to watch them play Jackson who is in our area. It is such a small venue that it was SRO and we weren't paying 36 bucks to stand and watch when we could stand beyond the fence an see just as much. We left at halftime.

You need to ask questions about that because Oak Hill was selling programs last night.

They always allow program sales at playoff games! Sounds like someone was just making up reasons as to why they didn't have programs or just didn't have a clue.

You got that right.. I remember hearing a couple of years ago that they held their "Annual Conference" in Hawaii.  Ridiculous !!

I thought Dan Ross would be a little different than the previous crew.... but.... same ole, same ole.
Just like the damned politicians. Tax and spend. They live high on the hog while Joe Schmoe has to pay $36 just for tickets for his family of 4 to go watch big brother play, not to mention money for gas, hotdogs, cokes, hot chocolate, etc.

as far as i know Dan Ross hasn't done anything new that's positive and certainly not for his home area.

i was at a game the other night and a friend had brought his 5 year old grandson to the game so he could see his older big brother play in the playoffs. The kid was dressed well but still was about to freeze before halftime so his grandpa took him down and was going to take him to the car for awhile to warm him up but was told at the gate that if they left he'd have to pay to get back in ( another $9 bucks EACH for him AND the grandson ) He asked the attendants if they thought a 67 year old man and his 5 year old grandson was going out to get a couple of horns of liquer or grab a quick joint or what? They just said that's the rules.... so he took his boy and went home.
It appears that "Big Brother" was not only in the game but also standing guarding at the gate too.

Maybe Dan Ross needs to practice what he preaches and ...

RESPECT THE GAME !!!

Yeah, definitely about the money. OHSAA doesn't give a rats ass about the kids, it's all about the almighty dollar. $9 dollars for a high school football game is ridiculous, not to mention not being allowed to leave and reenter after half time.

It hasn't kept me from going to games. Took in the Ironton game and the Coal Grove game. As long ad they're close to home, the fuzz will continue to come. Next week, I'll be heading to Jackson for the Oak Hill game and then I might head across the river for a Ky game. I intend on heading to an Ironton regional championship game in two weeks too.

Not at the gate on the hill. They told me there that they didn't have any because the OHSAA wouldn't allow it. I asked the other guys standing around me on the hill and they said they were told the same thing. I guess the nimrods taking tickets didn't have a clue then.

I saw people with programs at the Ironton game (and as YTB says above, he got one) but I didn't see anybody selling them at the side gate (high school side, that is). I assume they were for sale at the front gate but I didn't get a chance to track one down.

I don't like paying even $7 pre-game for a playoff ticket but other than not going to the game, there are not a lot of other choices.
