Portsmouth West 4th Annual Holiday Biddy Ball Tournament

The Portsmouth West High School Basketball Association will be hosting its 4th annual basketball tournament starting Dec.27 thru Jan.1. The tournament will be split into a 3/4 boys, 3/4 girls and 5/6 boys, 5/6 girls with the number of teams determining the format. All teams are welcome and traveling teams must play up one division. The entry fee will be $100 dollars with all proceeds going to the Portsmouth West High School Basketball Association. Anyone needing further information please call (740)304-1238.

Why would a traveling team want to participate in a holiday tournament filled with non traveling teams?

I have a 3/4 group of girls that would love to play but we are not a traveling team anyway we wouldn't have to play up? All my girls are from 1 school.

This is a school team tournament. The only way we will take travel teams is if we do not have enough teams and then they will have to play up.

So the grade levels aren't seperate? It is probably hard to find teams that want to play up a grade against kids a year older than them....

Do they not seperate them by age because there are not enough teams?

If we could get enough 5th or 3rd grade teams to seperate we would . We usually only have one or two 3rd or fifth grade teams. If I could get four we would do that.
