His first season would have been 1993-94 season/school year. Meaning games in 1993 with the class of 1994.NYF wrote:Does anyone know what years Meade coached at NY?

1993-2002-10 seasons
not sure about records overall but did have 10-0 teams in 94 and 97 football seasons, both years they won first round playoff games 94 against Coshocton and 97 against Wheelersburg
paging NYB96

I would say just winning a playoff game, let alone two, is enuff said! Beat Logan a few times too if my source is correct. How about Jackson? I think he beat Jackson a year when Jackson was 9-1 or maybe 8-2. When Meade coached Trimble was not a big game for NY. Most years the weakest team on the schedule. Not so since Meade left.91Buckeye wrote:1993-2002-10 seasons

I don't have my stats in front of me right now, but I will post them soon.
This analysis is based soley from memory of the stats without having them in front of me.........If we were to compare based soley on records, the edge would have to go to Kevin Meade. Undefeated teams in 94 and 97, both teams finished as runners up in the region, back when NY was in Division 4, Region 15. Kevin Meade defeated the following teams in the playoffs: Coshocton in '94, Wheelersburg in '97 and Valley in '98. This was back when fewer teams made the playoffs.
Something else to consider - NY played more big schools in the 90s than today. Games with Logan every year. Non-league matchups with larger schools such as Jackson and Columbus St. Charles. NY has more D V/VI schools on the schedule in recent years than they ever had before. Granted, they are tough schools for the most part like Newark Catholic, but NY in the past played much bigger schools non-league. Keep in mind that this is all relative. If you compare NY's schedule to most other D V schools, NY today still plays more big schools than most D V schools, we just played even more big schools back then.
The edge Boston Jr would have is his string of TVC titles. Granted, in all honesty, I think the TVC has been much weaker the past decade than it was in the 90's, but that title string is still impressive none the less. He has yet to have an undefeated season, something both Boston Sr and Meade were able to achieve more than once.
Undefeated Seasons:
Boston Sr -three - '81, '82, '92
Meade - two - '94, '97
Boston Jr - zero

Some of the Trimble teams that Meade beat did not have the talent of some teams of late, some did. The playoff wins are a check in Meade's corner but as NYB96 said things are relative. If you look at NY's recent lack of success in the playoffs it too is relative. In a number of those years that NY lost in the first round, under the old system they would not have qualified. In the playoffs seeding is crucial. There was two years that NY matched up with the regional champ in the first round, so it's hard to say if they were better than some other playoff teams or not. Different eras are hard to compare. Having said that, both were/are excellent coaches, just different.Trimble Juvenile wrote: I would say just winning a playoff game, let alone two, is enuff said! This year is probably Boston's last best chance to go undefeated and or win a playoff game. They are going to be extremely young the next couple years.
