Tigers need to come out and prove week 8 wasn't a fluke.

Love these people telling the fans to quit crying lol yes we are there and no your team isn't good for you.
I'll be at the game but the point is that we are the number one seed and we played a decent schedule to get it.
That should mean something whether you like it or not.
You don't like reading the post don't read them.
It may not matter to you people but it does to alot of fans here would rather it be in Columbus just to keep the Logan people having something to do on a Friday night.
And that is aimed at a few Logan posters not all of you so it is in Logan we will get over it and we will win and then we will here how we got the calls and how we should have had a tougher schedule and not been in the playoffs any ways.
People always have something to say against Ironton and that is just the way it is I know but we can say one thing for sure.
We are still playing and you are not

As I recall, Logan posters told Ironton posters to "stay off their thread" in another topic.
Right back at you!! Seems to me that Ironton is being forced to travel to Logan two weeks in a row as punishment for "making the playoffs" when you didn't. You Logan folks gleefully ridicule the Ironton Fighting Tigers and deliberately belittle and misspell our team name; but you want us to "bring/spend our money" to enrich your town?? Right!!
I am unable to travel, but if I could, I would deliberately NOT spend a single dime in Logan!!

I think Hartley's radio station St.Gabriel Catholic Radio 1580 AM is covering the game. Also for all the people who are saying that Hartley is not physical and that they quit I saw them play against Heath they were very physical against Heath and also just because you guys beat them in week 8 doesnt mean you guys will whoop them this week its a totally different season this is game three of the new season no one cares what happened in the regular season we will see who the better team is when that team raises the Region 15 champs trophy...Nuff said

Who could argue with that? I bet that Coach Lutz sure won't. I bet however you see them Tigers more angry and ready than anyone has seen them in years when they come out on the field Friday night. They'll be wanting this game like no one's business.

A good point was brought up about Ironton being ridiculed over their scheduling by the haters on here.

From a neutral observation - For the last 10 years or so, I have followed all southeast Ohio teams pretty closely. So close in fact that I have each teams schedules and mark them with wins and losses as the season goes. (Really helps in the picks contest).

My point is this - I routinely add up the division size of each teams opponents, then divide by the number of games. For example, most D-IV schools average opponents will be a 4.3 or a 4.6 because most play several smaller schools.

Ironton has been the ONLY D-IV team I know of that has ALWAYS played an opponents averaging in the LOW 3's almost approaching the 2's in some seasons. Their only routine play down is the toughest DV in the area - Wheelersburg.

Most schools in southeast Ohio average playing the same size schools or smaller. Ironton has trouble filling dates at times. They have been turned down more often than most schools because teams know it will be a probable loss.

Nobody outside of Ironton seems to realize this, but man o man do they ever hear about the Canadian team they scheduled!!!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------amen, brother. i ain't even been on here because of all the whining. it's embarrasing to all the loyal tiger fans, who'll travel anywhere. i am totally okay with this. suit me fine to be there next week. i don't care. i'm just glad to be playing. back to the actual game, we better have our big boy game ready. because we handled this team pretty soundly week 8. and they are gonna be out for revenge, and we gotta stop em in their tracks.
PLEASE POSTERS , QUIT COMPLAINING FOR GOD'S SAKE. THESE PLAYERS READ THIS ALL THE TIME. IT CAN'T BE HELPING THEIR MORAL. THINKING THEIR OWN FANS DON'T WANT TO BE THERE. LET'S ACT LIKE BIG PEOPLE.

Bait, you know me and my convoy will be there. And as for tail-gaiting goes, that depends on when everyone is available to leave. I would LOVE to though!

So?? Isn't Columbus also on Rivers? The Olentangy/Scioto? And don't those rivers flow into/become a tributary of the MIGHTY OHIO RIVER? MERCY! How is being "River Boys" a "bad thing" or an insult?
Darn straight, Ironton is a "River Town" - the BIG OHIO RIVER - and proud of it - it's a major source of our economy.

Oh I'm not upset at all that we were called that. I just thought everyone would like to hear it. It made me laugh actually. We know where we're from, they have no idea about us down here. For goodness sake, these guys didn't even know who our coach was.

How could a sport's writer, covering prep football from Columbus, not know who Ironton's coach is, especially after all the fireworks last year?

That's just what it seemed like to me. The guy said he had to do some homework on us.

Seriously, you have a coach that started out with leather helmets, who holds the most wins in the state and he's got homework? Hmmmmmm either he was, born yesterday, or moved into the area recently?
