Regional Final- Region 19 Oak Hill vs. Fredericktown
What are your thoughts? I know that Fredericktown is very athletic and it will take an A+ game to beat them but it can be done.

Re: Regional Final- Region 19 Oak Hill vs. Fredericktown
Good luck Oaks. The Freddies are exceptionally athletic and fast at every position. Their kick/punt returns are very dangerous as well. Burg had no running game against them at all, but their pass defense was not the best. Not sure on the yardage, but Shears had some decent passing yards tonight mostly because they were playing really soft because we were in long yardage situations the whole game. They play with 2 QB's sometimes in the game (#13 and #1). They have 2 very fast backs (#23 and #32). Against Burg tonight they were easily stronger and faster at every position on the field.
It will be interesting to see where this game will be played. Probably a good chance it will either be at OU or Logan, but with the great minds of the OHSAA, who knows until tomorrow.

I am hoping that the state just goes crazy and makes the game at Jackson. Wishfull thinking I know. I was guessing that the game would be in Logan.

I don't think they ever let the same team play at the same location 2 weeks in a row. I would guess that Jackson and Nelsonville are both out of the question for this game, although they are both very nice facilities.MightyOaksFan wrote:I am hoping that the state just goes crazy and makes the game at Jackson. hmmm, don't know. I thought that a team played at Lancaster twice a few years ago but could be wrong.
Re: Regional Final- Region 19 Oak Hill vs. Fredericktown
My best guess of where the game will be played is New Lexington or Logan. I don't know if New Lex put in for a game or not. I'm pretty sure Logan did.
Per google map.
1. New Lexington- Oak Hill is 72 miles, 1 hour 41 minutes -- Fredericktown is 63 miles, 1 hour 34 minutes
2. Logan- Oak hill is 52 miles, 1 hour 9 minutes -- Fredericktown is 75 miles, 1 hour 48 minutes
Either site seems like a fair choice to me.

Good luck to the Oaks next week. They will need it. The Freddies are solid at every position and pushed the Burg OL and DL all over the field. The Pirates had no running game whatsoever against the Freddies. The almost completely shut down Schankweiler. They do seem to be able to be passed upon though. The Pirates did move the ball through the air, though it seemed like everytime the Burg would get a big positive play there would be laundry on the field and it would come back. They are big, they are fast, and they are very athletic. Definitely much better than last years team.

I think we hosted ironton 2 wks in a row last year. Not 100% on that but I know we hosted 3 playoff games.

We did but Logan didn't put in to host and Jackson couldn't get enough people to work a game so they didn't host so the State used NY twice. I don't look for the game to be at OU cause OU charges the state to use Peden and OHSAA isn't going to spend money if it doesn't have to.
NY may end up with Ironton and Hartly and Logan may get the Oak Hill game.
