White Falcons have a lot of support. We had over 1900 hits on the internet last night. All the way from San Jose California (Wirt Co. listener) to San Antonio, Texas to London, England. We also had a listener on the USS Klakring.

From what I understand Metro News has the broadcast rights for the finals. I'm not sure why but it take the broadcast away form the local stations that have covered their local schools.

Charleston or Morgantown would be better than Wheeling.

However, the Wheeling package deal of horse track and casino for adult entertainment is too much for the WVSSAC to pass up.

No WAY in hades is Morgantown or Charleston a better choice than Wheeling. Fellas, you gota get up there and see how much Wheeling's committee does to make the championships what they should/are.


Charleston never drew any crowds, and Morgantown, c'mon man, that'd be silly.

Wheeling has been perfect for the games and with the racetrack/casino next door, plus Goodfella's for 'entertainment' you can't go wrong.

I hope Wahama's fans enjoy that Wheeling Feelin' on the Island and take down Central. Oh, and cover their wide receivers because once they find out who the week DB is they pick on him for all the key plays.. just ask Donahue.

Must agree with surfsider on this one.

The WVSSAC would be idiots to ever think of moving the games from Wheeling.

The crowds are much better than they ever were in Charleston, there's more to do with the OV Mall and Highlands Shopping Centers only minutes away, the Dogtrack/casino, dance clubs, etc.

I sincerely wish Wahama all the best but they also have to stop that spin series of Wheeling Central and hit that RB low and wrap him up. They were lucky to beat Donahue so here's an opportunity for the White Falcons.

I'm showin' up to root for WHS because I went to Wahama to watch a game back in the 70's.

CD - I agree with everything that you have said. Whether it is the OVAC All-star game, or the Final six in WV HS football, Wheeling really knows how to put it out there, and make it a great experience for the kids, their schools, and their supporters.

Go up there one time and experience the championship games, and you will then understand why Wheeling has been hosting the finals for quite awhile.......

Sorry, the WVSSAC speaks out of both sides of it's mouth by picking Wheeling with it's dog track, casino and strip clubs nearby for a high school championship.

They should have plumbed the other towns into upping the anti and getting more out of them.

Still, rooting for the White Falcons to bring home their first ever state title in football and the 2nd ever for the TVC.
