Anyone who thought they would run through the league is silly. After the signings, the overwhelming opinion was that they didn't have a roster to win it all unless 2 guys can carry, we all know that isn't going to happen, no 2 guys are that good. Then the season neared and ESPN started the run for 71 thing and some idiots bought into it. They will be fine and if they can compete this year, watch out in the future because they will only build a stronger team around Lebron and DWade. CB is okay but not a top ten guy at his position and that is being exposed now. He should have it made stat wise this year but................. Can't get guys to play for free! Anyone with any knowledge knew this wasn't going to be the year they started winning champs, takes a team not just 2 great players. Riley will do a good job getting guys to come play with a goal and if the offense gets stagnant I'm sure he will step in whether it be obvious or behind the scenes. They will still need some more motion in the playoffs to beat the Celts much less the Lakers and that is an area that we haven't seen Lebron go to work in and DWade has been his best when moving w/o the ball. Something tells me when they figure out that Lebron and Wade can use the pick n roll together they will be tough to guard especially with Miller knocking down shots and CB getting his looks and easy putbacks. Don't fool yourselves into thinking Riley isn't taking everything in and biding time to say something.

I loved how people compared them to the 95-96 Bulls. That was borderline insane and it is being proven now.

Not 72-10 and never will be.

They don't have anyone near MJ and only wish they had a player like PIPPEN to compliment LeBum

They don't have or never will have the chemistry that those Bulls showed.

didn't the 95/96 Bulls already have a few years under their belts with the same guys playing together?

In about two more years the Heat might have the chance to be up their with the Bulls.

Also in those years the NBA looked to be down in talent too.

^^ good post...... I am not comparing them to the Bulls at all because of the Jordan factor....imo nobody in the game today could get close enough to Jordan to sniff his jock in terms of the all around game. Pippen was Pippen because of Jordan and the years they were not together, Pippen struggled and didn't produce wins. He could run the floor w/o the ball and was a fair defender and rebounder. 50 greatest of all-time????? C'mon man!

I agree, let them play together a little while and aquire the right pieces and we may see a great team.

93-94 Bullshttp://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1994.html

94-95 Bulls http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1995.html

95-96 Bulls http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1996.html

Rodman didn't join until the 95-96 season. And you have to remember about Jordans retirement. When he came back, Pippen was really the only guy that had been on the court with him. Almost everyone he played with and won titles with in the early 90s was retired already or was traded If you look at the rosters, they switched players in and out on trades alot more than you would think. Were they key players, no but most were good role players. I am sure the Heat will be good one day but 95-96 Bulls good? No, there will never be a team to have the type of chemistry those guys had and come out on the floor every night with the heart they showed and the killer instinct.

One thing the Jordan era had was a center in Bill Cartwright and after him they had a collection of players who filled in at that position. They were not dominate centers but they fit well with the Bulls team concept.

Right now the Heat are starting to play well. Wade is playing well along with doing a lot of dunks. But over the past few years his health has not held up. That will be a big problem if he gets injured.

I think they need to try and trade Bosh for a good big man. I think a good fit for them would be a guy like Brook Lopez.

I don't like the Lakers but I think they will crush the Heat today. I would say being the defending NBA Champions that they are sick of hearing about the Heat, who have won nothing and will send them a message today.

Dan,
I too lost interest in the NBA after Bird. The ONLY reason I care about what James did was that it involved Cleveland and a city that has had enough of the crap. Now a little of topic but Pryor was taking a certain amount of direction from this idiot. Is it a coincidence that he too messed up? I think not. You become what you value and Pryor vauled James and his advice.

Thats kinda harsh to put the blame of one mans mistakes on another man no matter how much you hate the guy.I guess we are going to blame Maurice Clarett on Lebron James heck dont stop their Barack Obama is getting advice from Lebron James on how to run the country get real pryor screwed up and its solely his fault and no one elses.

Dont get me wrong I like Pryor but Ohio fans should be more mad at Pryor than Lebron. Pryor broke the rules did something wrong and no one cares. Lebron followed the rules did nothing wrong and all of Ohio hates him. I guess Carson Palmer should go out and kill a man so we can praise him for it.

Carson Palmer will never get praised for anything in Ohio.

And it's not that LeBron left, it is how he went about it with the big TV show and all. It was a slap in the face to Cleveland and everyone in Ohio.

The way the Cavs didn't get someone good to go with James--the owners of the Cavs slapped their fans in the face everytime they went through the doors
