Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
River started out slow tonight. I thought the game was over when corey f. Dunked it. But then the pilots faught back. River has had good scoring from all their players the last two games. And tonight rivers big man played very well. Brown has been playing great D. Ramshier has been scoring at will. Wax is still stroking the 3ball. Potts is finally scoring again. Jordan I. Has been getting better and better each night out. The pilots are 7-3. They play Tuesday nite at Beallsville and then Saturday night at magnolia.

man, River definitely has a shot at the OVAC playoffs. Beallsville does too as a matter of fact. The game Tuesday @ Blue Devil gym should be a good one. Beallsville's big men will have to stay out of foul trouble because this game is huge for points for BHS.
Don't know if the predicted 'ice storm' will hit Monroe County and cancel school or whether they'll play this game at a later date.

Fort Frye picked a win over cross river rival Waterford tonight.
Final score 41-28
Forts JV's also won 42-39 in OT.
Someone said this was Waterfords first JV loss.

Waterford played really tough D but never had closer 5 or 6 in the 2nd half.FF lead by as many as 16.They still missed a ton of easy layups.FF now 10-1 (7-0)........Also Frontier picked 2 win of year. Caldwell 45 @ Frontier 49.

Caldwell/Frontier game was a 15 point halftime lead for the cougars. Caldwell continued their month long habit of making nothing. Game was a 13 point lead with under two to play, Redskins started hitting shots and actually was fouled on a 3pt attempt down three with ten seconds to play but missed the first two attempts. Entertaining game to watch.

River's game was a little "off" vs. Beallsville due mostly, I believe, to the limted space on Beallsville's SMALL court. The Pilots gutted out the 'W', though and that's what counts in the end. A 12 pt. win would probably have been more on a larger court. The Blue Devils do have a couple nice underclassmen and will only get better.

Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
Tucker Brown is the glue that holds the Pilots together and warrants a spot on any/every PVC 1st or 2nd team. He is averaging 10 ppg with approx. 5-6 assists and rebnds and 3-4 steals. He defends the opposing teams' best players every night, no matter if they are 5-7 or 6-5. Those that see the games and not just the box scores, know who each team's MVP's are and for River it's Tucker Brown. This is to take nothing away from Ramsier, Wax, and Potts who are also averaging 10 pts. plus /game. They are having fine seasons in their own right. Indermuhle has also been really establishing himself as a skilled 6-5 soph the past 3-4 games, this only makes the Pilots better as they need his physical presence in the paint.
Pilots have a rematch with WV AA Magnolia in New Martinsville tonight.
River as a team only averages 8 turnovers /game, so they all take good care of the ball.

Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
Tale of two halves at Magnolia tonight.
River played lights out in the 1st half, especially the 2nd quarter, and took a 41-30 lead into the lockerroom after the first 16 minutes.
Unfortunately for the Pilots, that's the momentum killer that Magnolia needed and River never could recapture the offensive or defensive domination it had going early, in the 2nd half. For one half River played as well as they have all season, particulary given that Magnolia is a very solid team, with a huge size advantage over the 4 (and sometimes 5) gaurd Pilot team. But as they say, the game is 32 minutes long and Magnolia turned the tables to the opposite extreme in the 2nd half.
River set fire to the nets in the first half, then couldn't get anything to fall the rest of the way. Sam Ramsier led the way with 25 pts. for River.
Next game Tuesday @ Caldwell. Pilots now 8-4 on the season, with 2 of the 4 losses courtesy of Magnolia. The Blue Eagles remain in the top 4 of the OVAC AAA standings.
