Some guy came up and yelled at me that he thinks Monroe Central should be #2 @ Meadowbrook and I will respond to that.Fort Frye is still 2 13-3 (10-1) PVC Champs Losses Warren 2X and @MC 3,Monroe Central 11-4 (7-3) Losses Magnolia,Shenandoah,River,@ FF by 7.With Bellaire without Devin Ward 0-4 without him I think FF and MC have locked 2 and 3.

Bellaire still very dangerous: big but fast, athletic, and Gene Ammirante still one of the better coaches around.

Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
River absolutely blew the doors off of the Zeps last night, especially in the second qtr. The Pilots had the transition game clicking, reeling off something like 10 or eleven possesions in a row where they scored fast break buckets. River's "D" also top-shelf stuff the last two games.
Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
Great to see River playing well for coach Romick. he's got to have some of the better assistant coaches around in Curtis, Pfalzgraf and that Skyvue flash, Piatt. It all starts on the defensive end, but nice to see Pilots are playing to empty gyms with that ol' slowdown pass-it-10-times style I remember seeing in 'Hoosiers'.
Play like they did against 'Doah and River can get to OVAC final and maybe win the thing. Who knows, a possible District berth but I'm not gettin' ahead of myself.

Yea Shenandoah has not been playing good lately. They are a 1 man team really.FF went into Waterford and won by 13 tonight.Caldwell 47 Frontier 41 Final.FF beat Bellaire without Ward last season.Ward is a big time loss scoring 25 plus ppg.Bellaire is struggling losing to MF and St C by 40.
Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
Frontier Caldwell game was one of the worst officiated games i seen in a while. Fickiesen had 4 fouls in mid 2nd quarter and a couple other players were in foul trouble also. Frontier wins this game by 10+ if Fickiesen stays in the game. Refs cheated the kids.

River 77
Beallsville 59
This game much like last night's Shenandoah game. River out and running early and often. Pilots forced 28 Blue Devil turnovers and River assisted on 28 of their 30 field goals. River really playing well the last 3 games on both ends of the court. They seem to have found their stride and are peaking at the right time. Pilots put 4 players in double figures again tonight and Tucker Brown had another double-double with 10 pts. and 11 assists and he had 6 steals. Potts had 16 pts. and 7 rbnds, Wax 14 pts and 7 rbnds. and Ramsier 14 pts and 6 assts.
I had more on this post in an edit, but lost it due to connection problems.
Summarize to say that River could have named their score tonight. They played alot of JV kids in the second half. Good production was provided by soph Jordan Indermuhle as well as off the bench by soph Brett Price.
Super 6th man, the human sparkplug, Tyler Stewart also turned in a solid performance with a couple of twine-tickling threes and 3-4 assists and steals.
River hosts Monroe Central in a big-time county showdown on Tues. River 12-5 on the year, while MC sits at 12-4. Huge implications on the final OVAC Class AA top four as well as seeding for MC at the D-3 Meadowbrook sectional on the line. Tues. is also RHS' senior night and Coaches vs. Cancer game.
Beallsville 59

Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
deisel, for one keeping fickeisen on the floor in the second quarter with three fouls is a risky move. Second, had the officials done anything correctly he would have fouled out in the first half as he couldn't handle the pressure of freshmen johnny wiechman and flat out forearm shiverred him three times at half court before he was called for it the fourth time he did it. His other three fouls were over the back fouls on box outs, just not smart moves by a very solid, and experienced player. Redskins senior Dylan Sayre only played five minutes last night and fouled out as well. Officials were just not good but they were the same both ways. If you noticed Frontier played Caldwell to a draw in the third quarter with Fick on the bench, Caldwell took a ten point lead with him on the floor in the fourth, Caldwell also was playing the second night in a row after losing the way they did against Trail the night before. The Redskins are the better team of the two this season, Frontier does have maybe the best player in the league other then Farnsworth. The Redskins have played well the past few games.

Re: PVC Schedules, Results, and Standings 2010-11
These players like Fick, Farnsworth and who else?... The best three teams in the PVC are very well balanced:
FF: has Smith, Lagrean, and Eddy who are really the three main scorers with decent role players to go with them. 2 of their other guys might occasionaly hit for double figures, but not often. They play good 'D' , are well-coached and have good fundamentals in a well-run program. No "flashy" players on this TEAM.
MC: has Schumacher and Baker as their 2 main scorers right now. Bettinger, Wise and Highman have the ability to put up double figures for them. Guys that fill roles include Hill, Dimmerling, Kinchen and Ring. They have depth, but no stars. They are blessed with size and some speed on this TEAM.
River: has Ramsier and Wax averaging double figures, with Potts and Brown at 9.xx ppg. Indermuhle has had 3-4 games in double figures and Stewart has a season high of 17 off the bench vs. Magnolia. Brett Price filling a role very nicely as of late, coming off the bench to fill a gaurd/forward spot. River also plays great 'D' and forces a ton of turnovers. They are very, very quick, both in a straight line and laterally. Ramsier and Brown are super fast off the dribble and Wax and Potts are excellent spot-up 3pt. shooters. The Pilots are fundamentally sound, especially in taking care of the ball as they are averaging only 8 turnovers/game thru 17 games. They play great as a TEAM.
The point with TEAM being in caps is that these three have multiple players that could be considered the best players in the PVC on other teams in the conference. They play well together, have more talent thru their top 7 players than all the others and have all players pulling in the same direction for the good of the team.
I just wanted to point out to everyone the value of being a team with multiple weapons and being sound fundamentally. Both are becoming more rare every year.
