Ironton Football 2011

I see Ironton at 8-2. I think games at Jonathan Alder and Hartley will be very tough.

The competitive balance issue has been addressed as well. Looks like the Tigers are going to be dinged pretty good because of their enrollment status (+8%) and their regional appearance success (+16% for appearances in 2009 and 2010).

Kratz is going to be qb. Dutey and jalen are NOT in the mix. Last year our 1-2 punch was Wilks Warner. Next year it's Hager-White. Those 2 will have to carry the team. I don't see Wilson, schweickart, leach or jones getting a whole lot of carries. Beach may if he can hold on to the dang ball! But one thing that hurts us alot is our upcoming sophomore class. They're very weak and won't contribute hardly at all. This is an all junior senior team. Not the best depth, so hopefully we can avoid injuries. And 6-4!?!? Come on.. I'm thinking 8-2. Go tigers!

scheduling ursline would not be a good idea. it would not be good to take a 60 point butt kicking late in the season. maybe the ironton of the 80s ord 90s but definately not now.

The Fairbanks game was always a one game contract.

Fairbanks was never coming back here in 2011. It was a one game deal. They had a team on their schedule for 2010 (Marion Catholic) that dropped football suddenly and we filled that spot. Week 9 is the only date open on the 2011 schedule.

According to the AD our 2011 football schedule is the same as 2010, with week nine currently open.

With week nine being open I would'nt be surprised to see if there would be any interest in renewing the series with Belfry Ky. I always felt this was a great series that payed dividends for both programs. Usually always a pretty good gate and often a pretty good game. I really respect the Belfry program and the way they play. I see many parallels between Ironton and Belfry. I have no idea if its a possibility for 2011 but it would be a good game.
