He is on the roster on their website. It will be his first time playing his home school barring some type of injury like our last two scrimmages against them.
Anyone have any information on Cory Burnworth? The varsity roster has him listed as a 6'3" freshman but there is someone of the same name(same exact spelling) who is a 6'0" sophomore on the JV roster...?

Wheelersburg must be down this year if they only beat Northwest by 8 points.
Thats what I thought too but they have beat a decent Waverly team and are supposed to be near the top of the SOC II. But Oak Hill almost lost to a sub-par White Oak squad so who knows how strong that conference actually is this season.
The 28th should be a good game to watch, i really want to see peebles put together a solid 4 quarters and see what kind of numbers they can put up. Hopefully Manchester brings their a game because im sure the indians will.
He had 2111. Blake should get 2000 no problem but it will take some stellar play and a deep tourny run to break Cluxton's mark. If we win state he will only have to average 20.2ppg the rest of the way out to beat it by one :122245 .
I remember watching Paul Cluxton play a handfull of times while I was in junior high and wow that guy could shoot from anywhere on his half of the court and he made it look easy.
I read on another thread that Justice hit 13 treys, scoring 42 points in the 67-65 loss to Manchester.
Any idea how many treys and total FGs Blake attempted? Also how many did he miss while they were up with less than 4 minutes to go? How many points did Peebles score in the last 4 minutes?

Someone always has to try to put a negative spin on an outstanding performance. Congrats on your victory Greyhounds.
mhs95_06....if anyone can rememer the TV show Alice, what was it that Flo used to say?...cause I feel it is appropriate here.
Fine display of basketball talent and sportsmanship from both teams last night. Even great sportsmanship from both crowds. Appeared that all present appreciated a great game of round ball.
Then along comes mhs95_06. Thanks for reminding us that some things never change......
I was accused on another thread of already knowing the answers to my questions. I do not have any knowledge of the game other than what I've read here. What intrigued me was the comments by peeblesfan97: "Blake Justice put on one of the better shooting displays Ive ever seen in high school hoops." I thought great shooting performances are typified by high percentages, so I asked if anyone could give further info.
Then, being a great fan of the strategy of the game, I got to thinking how the game went in those last four minutes with Peebles losing their good 7 point working margin with no shot clock. Did they take some shots they maybe shouldn't have? Maybe Blake was hot and went cold the last 4 minutes. Was the score over the last 4 minutes 9-0 or 19-10, or somewhere in between? Did Peebles miss a lot of free throws? I've seen great shooters before have a great game, and get too much confidence. They are feeling it and keep shooting even though proper strategy doesn't call for it. A little fatique comes in with their great confidence and they start trying to get the ball into the hoop more directly and flatten out the shots and start missing, and then the lead evaporates. Just wondering if some of that may have been a factor in this game.
riiiiiight mhs95_06. There wasn't a Manchester resident NOT at the game last night. You can surely do better than that! I'm still laughing at your ridiculously poor "cover" post.

I'm from Marietta and have not ever seen Manchester or Peebles play anywhere other than at the OU Convo to which I make frequent treks during tourney time.

Well just to end the debate he shot 65% from downtown.
The shots he missed towards the end wasn't the problem, because he made his free throws when they were needed. It might have been the two turnovers in the last 1:15. That was probaly the biggest error, and Manchester also never gave up and it showed.

Manchester just showed up and played their best game of the season. I watched them against Reedsville Eastern and they had a completely different team on the floor last night. Turnovers down the stretch and # of free throws taken was the deciding factor in that game.

He shot 13 of 21 from the 3 point line, 0 for 5 from the two's and 3 of 4 from the stripe. You can do the math and decide for yourself. I was just amazed with the 3 point shooting of 62%, I guess you had to be there. Stats via maxpreps.com
