If Marietta has size could be a long night for the Vikings, they will play hard and compete.

Jackson was the best 5-15 team out there, due to the SEOAL toughness.... won 3 against TVC schools and also beat a very good Unioto team that i believe finished 2nd behind Piketon in that league which VC beat Marietta does have a big man, Warren and Marietta 15 +

Great win in the clutch for the Tigers with the pressure on! VC played great the fourth quarter, much like the team you would had expected to see all night, they just fell behind in the 3rd, didnt give up and almost pulled the 17 point comeback..the Tigers fell asleep during the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th, and so must had the coaching staff like we had seen in the past against Warren/New Philly, was a scare but the players saved it at the end with their foul shooting.
The Warren/Marietta matchup..cant wait! another great SEAOL matchup, and another great bonus Washington County rivalry game.

No one really (Ironton, not current) past the district level but if we're only talking SEOAL vs. TVC, 9 out of 10 times at tournament time a 5,6 or 7 loss SEOAL team will beat a 1,2 or 3 loss TVC team of the same size at tournament time and it doesn't matter if it's by 1 or 20 points, a win is a win.CoyDuke wrote:The SEOAL is a better league than the TVC, but as far as that relating to tournament success? Im not sure that it does. Just how many of the current SEOAL teams outside of Chillicothe's recent success has really done anything significant in tournaments?

Most of the TVC success is in D3 and D4 not D2. VC has had recent success but so has Chilli and I think theirs trumps VCs.
4th place SEOAL team takes out top TVC team.

Congrats ... Now go beat someone at the Convo for a change ... Besides Chillicothe a few years ago - it seems to be a bit of a problem for teams from Southeastern Ohio in Division II.

Here we go! Lets keep bashing the TVC.The Wizard wrote:Most of the TVC success is in D3 and D4 not D2. VC has had recent success but so has Chilli and I think theirs trumps VCs.

The Vikings started slow and had a hard time getting going. The difference in the game was two simple stats; the Vikings were 6 of 15 from the free-throw line and they were outrebounded by 11. And the Vikings lost by one. Furthermore, Marietta, not a traditionally a strong free-throw shooting team were, tonight, 14 of 17 from the line. But hey, the Tigers got it done and we did not. Good luck to them.
It just goes to show you. This was a b...iatch of a sectional, and until the process changes, two great teams like this will continue face each other in the first round, which is inherently unfair.

This was much like the game at home against Warren for Marietta. We built a bigger lead this time but still, poor free throw shooting and turnovers from being press hurt us. Big Jon had a very good game, I was thoroughly impressed. It was nice to have Hess back and I'm sure he'll be in the swing of things for Saturday's big matchup against the Warriors.

Smelling a little sarcasm here from a Athens fan that jumped from the SEOAL and I don't think has any tournament success either.93Bulldog wrote:Congrats ...
