Portsmouth 8th grade girls schedule, results and stats
Re: Portsmouth 8th grade girls schedule, results and stats
The Lady Trojans lost another tight one at home in overtime to Ironton by the score of 51-44 OT. That drops the teams' record to (8-4). The girls were down by 5 at halftime and fought back to go up by 1 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Portsmouth actually had the game in hand being up 3 with under a minute to go. Just couldn't execute down the stretch. Give the Lady Tigers credit. Ironton hit a 3 pointer with 12 seconds to go to tie it. Williams scored what everyone believed to be the game winner with a basket with 7 seconds to go. Ironton was fouled going for the last shot and they made both free throws to send it to OT. That is when Ironton pulled away. Both teams gave it all they had. Very exciting game to watch. Williams led the way with 18 points, Jenkins and Benner had 9 apiece, Jackson chipped in with 6, and Oiler finished the scoring with 2. The Lady Trojans are right back in action against South Point at home.
