Big win on the road for the Vikings. VC is not a truly young team as much as they are inexperienced at the varsity level of play. Four seniors are starting and two of them are 3 year starters.

You are right on that RBR... Meigs will be a tough test for the Vikings. IMO Meigs, Athens, and VC will be at the top of the TVC in March.

WOW ... WHAT A FREAKIN GAME!

I thought Athens had it in the bag (up by 3 with 25 seconds left) ... Back-to-back steals by VC - a huge THREE by Levi to put the Vikings up by two was brutal if you were an Athens fan. Harris then throws up a last second shot from the wing to put it into overtime ... Germano's last second shot attempt in overtime was only from about three feet out - but it was just a hair short.

How did they blow a lead like that? It just boils down to coaching. Listen, this experiment with Combs has run its course. It was nice of VC to give him the opportunity, but it obviously isn't working out. Time to move in a new direction. Maybe they could get John Royster to take over.

This guy wants to thank all those young men for some of the best entertainment a guy could ever get in a small town on a Tuesday night. Tough loss for Athens, but the team showed tremendous spirit and will to win after being dominated for nearly 27 minutes of the game. Coach Skinner has a lot of bright spots to build from after tonight.

Boy, you're right about that Razor. Combs has lost 2 of his last 13 TVC contests. Of course, he had won 36 straight TVC games leading up to those 13. So his TVC record over the past four plus seasons is only 44-2. That .957 winning percentage will get you fired real quickly.

I really liked John Royster as a reserve coach, but I would be in favor of keeping Combs at least through this season

I just looked up Combs' record here at VC. Over-all regular season record is 150-55 (.732) with five TVC Ohio titles. In Tournament play his Vikings are 13-10 with 4 sectional titles and one district title. He is such a slacker. Must just be all the talent he has had to work with.

Razor, are you serious!? VC has dominated in the TVC-Ohio over the past 4 or 5 years, how could you say Combs isn't a good coach?
