Re: Huntington Football 2011
Wade is a good young man. He was a standout at Westfall, played for two universities at quarterback. He then coached under his father, a man who has turned around programs. If the Huntington people will get behind Wade, the SVC may have a new contender in a couple of years.
Good Luck Wade.
Good Luck Wade.

Best of luck to wade and the huntsmen...theres always a big problem with HHS football you dont have 11 guys wanting to go all balls and do whatever it takes to win with huntington its usually only 5or6 kids on the field wanting to...hopfully he can find him 11 players that want to win..
Best of luck and Go Green!!

Huntington gets a very young coach, but also a coach who has tons of football expierence and will go all out to get the program turned around. He'll do a great job.

Re: Huntington Football 2011
Coach Bartholomew had more than 70 students attend a football interest meeting this week. That in itself is encouraging. Three 7on7's scheduled, a scrimmage and a Jamboree game with Vinton County. Not bad for 3 days work! I know he is working a assembling a coaching staff as well. Some may be hired at the April 11 board meeting.

For a school Huntington's size, that's incredible.Huntington Athletics wrote:Coach Bartholomew had more than 70 students attend a football interest meeting this week. That in itself is encouraging. As a former player, I can tell you one thing. This was a huge hire for the Huntsmen. Coach Wade will have his work cut out for him, but bottom line is the man knows how to win.
Re: Huntington Football 2011
I love this hire. Young and energetic coach which is exactly what this program needs. He has a great background; he played for his father, was tutored by Scott Keller as the OC, and was around Todd Seymour as a DC. What better way to learn how to be a head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator, they don't get any better than those three in my opinion. This kid brings a lot of positive intangibles to the table. Things may actually be looking up for the Huntsmen football program.
Re: Huntington Football 2011
i also love the hire...i hope he does well and turns the program around best of luck to him and his coaching staff

Any news on assistants? Did they do away with paid assitants this year in all sports at Huntington?
