taft is deep, quick, and very athletic. they have recruited some of the best players in the cincinnati area and are d3 for another year. when you talk about major upsets they were a heavy favorite to win the d3 state tournament last year and choked.

If Fletcher can control Washington in the low post I predict an Ironton upset. Taft doesnt play a very disciplined (team) game. A lot of individual play. Just based on what I saw this summer. They may have changed and play better together. If that has happened could be a 20+ win for Taft. Cant wait to see it.

I will take Taft by 25....Not sure Ironton has anyone to matchup with Dwayne Stafford. Orlando Berry/Zacc Carter and Adolphus Washington/Trey Fletcher should be interesting though.

If Ironton plays to their potential and don't have a slow start, it will be a close game with the Tigers having a good chance at beating Taft. Ironton will have to play a solid 4 quarters to do it. I really don't think it will be a blowout by Taft though.

i have heard that taft's coach is quite a character, it will be interesting to see how he interacts with southeast officials.

If Taft plays like the team that showed up to the Sectional at Western Brown last year at the Classic then it could be a long night for the tigers. They did have a breakdown in last year's Regional matchup against underdog Bishop Ready though so who knows.

Taft is for real, one of the quickest Teams I've seen. I don't know exactly how many threes they hit but it was a bunch. They move the ball around exceptionaly well to find the open shooter. For the Tigers, you fought hard the entire game. Refocus and keep your heads up and come back tommorow night and play hard against Campbell Memorial.

Congrats to Irontons Sophmore Zac Carter who was the leading scorer with another 30 point night

Anyone know why Trevor White was up in the bleachers and not playing in this game??? We sure could have used Him tonight.

No shame at all in losing to Taft........I respect the Fighting Tigers for playing them, and really, is there anybody through the SE regional that will be better than Taft?

No...at any division. While I dont think that anyone is quite on their level in our side of the state I would keep their game against Bishop Ready in mind....undersized team that many people didnt think would stay within 20 of the senators comes out and beats them by 9 and advances to play at state....anything is possible around tournament time.

TribeManiac10: Upsets do happen, no question.......but any upset in the SE district tournament won't involve such a decided edge in talent. Ironton, Chesapeake, Peebles, Piketon, and Portsmouth are all relatively close in talent level, and those are my top 5 teams in SE D3.

The East District representative, maybe Garaway again, could be classified with the above teams' talent level.
