Re: Federal Hocking @ Alexander 12/28
In the last decade I have Eastern winning four and Federal Hocking winning four. Eastern-01,02,03,10 Federal Hocking-04,06,07,08
Re: Federal Hocking @ Alexander 12/28
Federal I believe also won it in 2005 did they not? Someone down there will have to see if they have them on the gym wall.
Taking about the article, if you can't talk to the coach then you don't get their side. Have the coach stay around and talk to the media, win or lose.

My apologies. I'm not trying to set FH apart from any of the other programs in the league. Eastern, Southern, Waterford, Trimble, and Belpre have all won their share of championships and had their time in the sun. I have read athens78's disrespectful posts regarding Federal Hocking for a while and it seems to me he has memory loss when it comes to the success of Lancer Basketball over the years.John Wooden wrote:In the last decade I have Eastern winning four and Federal Hocking winning four. gt13OSU.........Here is a question for you, did you know about Saylor's injury prior to the game and recent removal of what I heard as several staples from his shooting arm the day of the game?
Now, let's turn the tables. If this would have been Hart from Alexander with the injury and staple removal the day of the game and he would have turned in a less than ideal performance, would you have mentioned those facts in your article?
You know what we mean by media bias. When all the facts aren't reported be it sports or politics the total truth is never known and we can twist situtaions to look the way we want them to. And this is why not very many people trust the media. Think about it.

Re: Federal Hocking @ Alexander 12/28
Prior to the split between the Hocking and Ohio Divisions, Federal Hocking was the only team to win an outright TVC Championship of all the Hocking teams, less Belpre coming into the Hocking this year. (1991)
Nevertheless Federal needs to put the past behind them and work hard to get back on track.
Go Lancers.

Had I caught up with Coach Murray after the game, I would have gotten the facts on Saylor. As I was talking to Coach Gabriel, Chris exited the locker room and immediately got on the bus. I was hoping to talk to both coaches, but sometimes things don't work out. If it would have been Hart, with the injury, yes I would have known about it because I am closer knitted with Alexander, and I talked to Coach after the game. My apologies for not getting that in the article.Foxworthy wrote:gt13OSU.........Here is a question for you, did you know about Saylor's injury prior to the game and recent removal of what I heard as several staples from his shooting arm the day of the game?

In the end, it was only a couple lines about the big matchup. The main thing was about how the whole team struggled against Alexander's defense, only shooting 16 percent in the game.

Ummm, every once in awhile, old Steely throws out an incendiary device to get things riled up on here. Thanks Ahole 78, you have once again shown that if there is anyone on this website who can get under your skin, it's me. And frankly, I think that there are many who relish the fact that I can piss you off and you prove how shallow you are with your "responses" to my posts. I'm leaving the adjectives out of describing your posts, to take the high road.gymrat88 wrote:First of all, from what I heard Saylor had not practiced or played since the 21st when he hurt his elbow against Nelsonville-York. Secondly, I find it absolutely hilarious when you say that Steely thinks he knows it all and you talk about him criticizing people. Quite frankly, you have posted some of the most cocky, vengeful, ignorant posts I have read from anyone on this site. You also seem to take pleasure in bringing down Federal Hocking as much as you can. All teams have up and down years. This is a down year for FH, yes. But let me remind you that the Lancers have won more TVC Hocking Basketball Championships than any team in the Division, and were without a doubt the best Basketball program in the past decade in the TVC Hocking. You seem to have convient memory loss, that or again, your too ignorant to realize it.athens78 wrote:You did a great job. As is always the case Steely Dan thinks he knows it all. The only time he comes on this sight is to critize someone and use cuss words. Mr. high and mighty. The bottom line is the big kid hasn't had staples all year and he's been terrible. Great job on reporting and keep it coming, you'll never please some people.
And when it comes to the article, I read it, and it definetly sounded bias to me.
Others felt that the reporting was biased, and yea, maybe it was a little bit biased. That is what happens when you have a local from one of the schools write a story about their home team.
Just so everyone knows, I've sent gtOSU13 a PM and have personally apologized to him, and will do so, face-to-face as well, when I go to a boys game this year. Yea, unlike some, I don't hide behind my on-screen moniker and act like a complete tool. Folks from Fed Hock, NY, Alex, and Athens all know who I am, I make no secret about it.
Yea, I provoked alot of conversation and debate, which is good. I just hope that based on what has been communicated, the coach from Fed makes himself available from now on, and we all get the full story.
Happy New Year all!

Yep SD you fired them up as usual... And A78 took the bait as usual.
Jack Hart played a better game than Saylor. Give him credit... Maybe Chris's injury was a factor, or the fact that Jack is 2 years older, or the game was at Alex, or college scouts were there to see Jack play really doesn't matter. Mr. Hart got the job done and Mr. Saylor struggled.
Alex's pressure defense was a factor in the 2nd half but---- it was the same defense that didn't look that great in the 1st quarter. Fed Hock had way too many turnovers and never really got into an offensive flow. Fatigue may have been a factor. Alex had great intensity and FH could not answer it.
If you are only going to score in the 20's you better play some lock down defense. Unfortunately for the Lancers, defense is not a high priority with this group. No pressure defense and giving up layups in transition (without being in a press) seldom wins games.
Alexander played well. Michael Chapman controlled the game and pretty much scored at will. He has developed into a nice point guard that can also score.
The FH coach should have stuck around for an interview, that's part of the job even when you lose. But here is a tip for the reporter: always get the visiting coach's interview first. The home coach is usually the last one to leave the building...

This may be some of the funniest stuff I have ever read. A team gets beat 54-26 and has a shooting pct of 16%, the coach doesn't stick around for an interview and you guys hammer on the reporter's lack of journalism. Wow I would hate to be a writer in this conference. What could the guy say?
