bman,

Chesapeake just played a AAA team from WV, equivilant to a D1 team in Ohio.

They will play Spring Valley or Midland in the SJI (Both AAA and = to a D1 Ohio school), and then turn around and play Ironton again.

Chesapeake can't help their league stinks, and they were supposed to play Piketon as well until they figured their was a conflict in schd.

I don't think Chesapeake has to defend their schedule to anyone. When it is all said and done in March, I look for Chesapeake to be the last team standing. I also think Chilli and Logan Elm will make a good tournament run.

After last nights showing by my Cavs,i would drop them to #3 at least.....that team they played last night, imo, would be too much on anyones list.....not to make any excuses though they lost and lost UGLY! I would respect #4 or #5 too.....but thats how Chillicothe does, they schedule a brutal lineup to get ready for a long tourney run come February....Chilly will be fine and im sure by the end of the year they will b 1 or 2 on anyones list..

Peake tries to play people outside their league and that's all you can ask for. Leagues go up and down over time. Peake is a fine team. I'd probably have them, Ironton, Chillicothe, Logan Elm and Piketon in my top five, in no particular order. Warren is close as well.

I doubt we can climb to the top of the Elite 8 but I'm pretty sure we can beat every team in the elite 8.......so from the 4 teams we've played...(preseason and all) i'd have to go #1 Chilli...(great defensive juggernaut, a lil underwhelming of an offensive team, imo) #2 Chesapeake.....(versatile team/ especially size-wise)....#3Warren.....Solid basketball team.......#4Peebles....quote]
[/b]jgordon0315, I believe you're forgetting the tough games against Piketon in the summer league with Bendolph. If memory serves me right other than the Bannon Park Classic those games were one and two point games.

Ironton: loses saturday in which standout Soph Zac Carter only played the second half yet still dropped over 20.
Ironton: Bounces back on Sunday rolls to a victory over SSA by 15 the same team Chilly only beat by 9.

Warren: Recovers from their 14pts loss to Chilly with a quality win over Harvest Prep.

The next Elite 8 is going to be interesting.

Actually, with both teams at full strength, Portsmouth handled Piketon 77-59 at the Trojans middle school....Trojandave could attest to this as well, as he was there onlooking also. But I did forget that we played Piketon, Jimmy. Those other games, including the Bannon Park Classic, both teams weren't presenting their full roster of players, but like I said previously...these preseason games may not be the best of gages.

This is really funny. I'm picturing kids on a playground going nose to nose. "My teams better," "NO, my teams better." PFLOYD hope you can come back soon! We need a playground monitor before somebody takes the ball and runs home. HAHAHA Still praying for you and your family, gonna start praying for alot more. We all need it!

Well, for anyone(other than pfloyd) who is going to do a ranking, there is going to be a call out against them being biased towards the team or teams that they follow. Dime has a solid(outside of using MaxPreps) way of doing his rankings. Even though he follows Chesapeake basketball, it's very difficult to argue that they aren't one of the top two teams in the SE District.
I'm sure if I did this, I would be called out for an SVC bias(even if I would only have one SVC team in my current top 12) as I'm an SVC poster. This has done, what I believe, it was intended to do; spark some debate and pay tribute to pfloyd and it has done an excellent job. I look forward to his rankings on Wednesday and I'll compare and contrast what I've done to his on that thread as well.

I was reading along and saw Pfloyd's Elite 8 and thought, YES, he is back. BUT alas it was someone pretending to be Pfloyd. I know him quite well and this has been his way of sharing his knowledge for a long time. IT should remain attached to him and him alone. IF dime wants to write a listing, then he should at least use his OWN name and not use Pfloyd's title line, IMO.

If you don't like what you see, don't read it. It's really as simple as that. Just because dime has Chesapeake ranked first doesn't mean that they necessarily are, and it doesn't mean that Chilli is worse. I guess we'll never know, either. But honestly, give the guy a break. At least he's got the guts to do it (he sure needs it!), and he's basing his rankings off of something instead of saying "this team will beat this team 8 or 10 times" or something else.

[/quote]Actually> Vulgamore and Helton (two starters) didn't play in Portsmouth during the summer. Vulgamore was hurt and Helton was at football camps. Piketon played Legg and soph's all summer.

sitting in the stands,

I think it shows respect that someone is willing to try and follow the same guidelines as pfloyd and apply the same train of thought from an objective standpoint.

BTW, the author of this poll has admitted to knowing him and doing this poll strictly out of respect for him.

Maybe people on here should true having a little too.
