I would say Marietta wins this game by 10+. If Sewell keeps up the good work inside and Riley keeps doing what he is doing they will win some games.

Belpre is athletic. Don't know much about Marietta. Are they better than they were last year?

Marietta already has as many wins as they did last season they are much improved over last years squad.
They are 4-1
wins against Cambridge, New Philly, Gallia, and Athens
lost to a real good chilly team

Those are quality wins - they must have righted the ship.

Final
Marietta 88
Belpre 65
Tigers took command early and jumped out to a big lead and the Eagles could not recover. Belpre played them pretty even through the last 3 quarters but could not make up the big deficit.Marietta was a little too big and their size bothered the Eagles.Belpre improving and will be able to compete with the TVC Hocking teams.

Was the big boy from Marietta a factor in the game?

Yes early in the game, not so much in the 2nd half

As expected, the Tigers get the easy win and go to 5-1. Looking forward to seeing how the Tigers do vs Logan on monday.

Hope the Eagles can get a nice winning streak going now that conference play gets into full swing. Playing the Tigers was a good tuneup for the lads. Tough loss, but some positive things to build on.

Also, a big thank you to Marietta's PA announcer for taking a minute to remember Belpre's Emily Spencer with a moment of silence.

As the poster said above, he was in the first half. After that Marietta didn't play starters much.

He has had a good season, really coming along the last few games. Huge force on D-taking a lot of space up with his length and of course size. Rebound and blocked shots.

Really coming along nice on the offense side of the court now too. Good mid-range jumper for a big man.

This Marietta team has really impressed me as they seem to have a 'chip' on thier shoulder (in a good way) this year. Could make a nice run when it comes turney time. Espically if they keep shooting well from the outside..That makes their size inside even more of a factor.
