There is no question that OU will get to a bowl this year. 8-4? They are not in doubt here. They could easily be 9-3 if they would've handled their business at Minnesota.

Win at Idaho (3-8)
Win vs Marshall (9-2)
Win vs SE Louisiana (4-7)
Loss at Minnesota (5-6)
Win at Akron (6-5)
Win vs Miami, OH (3-9)
Loss vs West Michigan (6-5)
Loss at Buffalo (5-6)
Loss at Bowling Green (9-3)
Win vs Kent State (3-8)
Win vs Ball State (3-9)
Win at Northern Illinois (8-4)

Pretty good season if you ask me! Coach Solich, year in and year out, keeps doing his thing. Wins 6-10 games every single year! Not many mid-major conference schools can say that.

Idk what the hell happened. We looked god awful towards the middle of the season. But ended with a huge win. I'd say 99% of the people in Athens thought we would lose by 30

Well not trying to be a smart a$$ but, it's just how it works and has been in place for at least 10 years or so, and I currently do not have time to look for the source, however it is covered in my NCAA manual which I have at home. Currently Cal is filing a petition for a special waiver because their one FCS win does not qualify due to not offering enough scholarships. A school must offer the full amount of FCS schollies to be counted. I know in a couple of those articles I've seen explains the process.

Right now there are way more Bowls than there are winning teams, something has to give.I might watch OU but that would be about it.I would rather watch Charlie Rose than most them lower tier bowls.

Finally, 5-7 teams that have a top-5 Academic Progress Rate (APR) score. This was later adjusted to allow other 5-7 teams to be selected thereafter—in order of their APR

Regardless... these Bowls will look for teams that wont have 6 wins to fill the Vacancies in these Bowl Games.

The sponsors will look at 5-7 Teams that for Bowl Critera when it comes to thr Conference matchups... then the Power Conference teams will be decided... Any teams that have a strong traveling fan base will be Heavily Favored.

If you believe that ESPN is the authority on all things college football related you are mistaken. The Bowl eligibility has remained unchanged for years. Here is a guide to last years Bowl criteria, and again, this has not changed!!!! What will change this year is that the NCAA will grant a few more special waivers to fill slots, after the qualifying pool is taken

http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/bowl ... _2014.html

Eligible Teams
An eligible team is defined as one that has won a number of games against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents that is equal to or greater than the number of its overall losses (e.g., a record of 6-6, or better).

Exception – FCS Opponent
Each year, a FBS institution may count one victory against a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponent that has averaged 90 percent of the permissible maximum number of grants-in-aid per year in football during a rolling two-year period. However, The Football Issues Committee may approve a waiver of the 90 percent requirement to permit a FBS institution to count a victory against a FCS opponent toward meeting the definition of a "deserving team" if a unique or catastrophic situation affects the FCS institution’s ability to average 90 percent of the permissible maximum number of football grants-in-aid per year during a rolling two-year period.

Exception – Conference Champion
If a conference champion is scheduled contractually to participate in a bowl game, the institution that is the conference champion shall be eligible to participate regardless of its won-lost record.

Exception – Deserving Team That Loses Conference Championship Game
An institution that finishes its regular season having met the definition of a "deserving team" but loses its conference championship game shall continue to be considered a deserving team.

Insufficient Number of Deserving Teams
For a period of four years beginning August 2, 2012, if an insufficient number of institutions meet the definition of a "deserving team" to participate in postseason bowl games in a particular year, an institution that meets a condition set forth below shall be eligible to be selected to participate in such a bowl game. A particular bowl game may benefit from this provision only one time within the four-year period. All institutions that meet the first condition must be selected before an institution that meets the second condition may be selected and so forth in descending order:

6 win teams will get precedent over 5 win teams, if the 6 win team is eligible.

Had to correct a couple of numbers... I overlooked a couple teams and one "Bowl Eligible" team was unable to get a Bowl due to the 1 year wait RULE from FCS to FBS..

Kansas State punched their ticket to Bowl Eligibility.

Old Dominion, Minnesota and Illinois all lose and are 5-7.

We will have SIX (6) Teams in Bowls that are under a 6-6 Record.
