I hope this is a joke lol...

the kid is a nice player, but OU? and being to good to play at Shawnee?

Lets get real...

The Tyler Morgan kid from Western Brown put up better numbers against better competition at the High School Division 1 level and he is playing at Shawnee, and in my opinion was much better than Blevins. Blevins is no where near the players copas, cluxton, or either of the beuclers were and they went to Rio Grande (same league as shawnee, and RJ went to Taylor (NAIA) and Cluxton played at NKU. If you remember Brock Pistole, he was shorter than Blevins at 6'4", but he dominated the SHL and he couldn't cut it at Shawnee. He is a nice player for around here and im not knocking him but you also have to consider the talent he is going up against. The SHL is also considerably down from where it has been in the past. Besides Peebles, Manchester and Ripley there really aren't a lot of teams worth mentioning. The only other notable big men are chris cox and maybe joe michael, who would have to be 3 men at the college level.

Blevins would have to play a 3 at OU, he isnt quick enough, strong enough, nor does he shoot it well enough. I think Shawnee would be a HUGE accomplishment if Blevins could play there. From what I'm hearing Southern State has shown the most interest and he's not getting a ton of other looks if any.

Once again a very nice player and i'm not knocking him but I strongly disagree...

Truth,

The SHL is not down at all! Like you said Ripley, Peebles, and Manchester are a level above the rest of the SHL. But, when you stop and analyze the rest Eastern Brown, Fairfield, and Whiteoak are solid. The only reason their records are not better is because they play bigger/better schools. I would love to see Fairfield and Whiteoak stop scheduling the D2's (Hillsboro, Courthouse, McClain, M.Trace) and start playing the D3/D4's from your league. There record would improve immediately! Also, looking deeper North Adams and Lynchburg Clay are competitive teams (aside from NA's recent and I believe short term collapse). Fayetteville is D4 and they can compete with other D4's but will not win many games in league play. West Union is not good and does provide some easy wins for the rest of the SHL but every league has somebody like this.

Jimmy,

I would agree that the SHL is not down compared to the other leagues in the area,
I am talking about the talent level. The talent level is down compared to the past. There are some players starting for teams that would have had a hard time seeing the floor. Take 2005 for instance, Ripley, North Adams, Whiteoak, Eastern, Fairfield, West Union were all pretty good. Or take 2002 when the SHL sent to teams to the final 4, and north adams went to the district finals. The SHL was completely stacked with talent during those years.

People just don't realize how good you have to be to play college basketball at the NAIA level either. Most players on those rosters were stars on their high school teams and probably averaged anywhere from 15-30 ppg. Get out and watch some ball sometime, people throw D1 around like scholarships are just given to anybody who can play in their high school league. Just not so.

he reminds me a lot of jeremy bennington who went to West Union, very similar game. Bennington is now at Southern State.
