I think Manchester would beat Eastern right now too, I think Manchester will win when they play at the convo in the tournament, I just think since Eastern owns the head to head and is undefeated they should have the right to be at the top of the list.

another question i have is manchesters strength of schedule that much better than easterns? i am not sure of NA's record but you have white oaks record at 4-5 plus 4 of easterns 7 wins have been against div 3 schools, plus the win at "#1" manchester.

BTW ... I am kind of in the same boat with others about Eastern/Manchester ... Not sure how a team with one loss can be above a (7-0) team that beat the one-loss squad on a neutral floor.
Well it happens all the time in sports. Especially College Football. Yeah I know this isn't college or professional but that's not the point. Remember Boise St. and TCU (what was it last year?) were both undefeated but (LSU) was ranked #2 despite having 2 losses.(I may be wrong.) Another example is the Saints this year. They are what 11-5. But got the #5 seed and the Seahawks are #4 but have a 7-9 record. Yeah I know the seahawks won their divison but that isn't the point. The point is one, two, and even three loss teams can be ranked higher than an unbeaten team as long as the one, two, three loss team has a better SOS than the unbeaten.

The Saints beat the Seahawks in week 11. 34-19. Actually I have the college thing wrong. It was Kansas 12-1 that got shafted in favor of LSU and Ohio St. The latter being 11-2. And no they didn't met head-to-head. But going by standings Kansas should be one. It often happens in College Basketball too. Kentucky lost to UNC but UK 12-2 (plays a bunch of nobodys) is ranked higher than UNC 10-4 (better SOS they play DUKE). Head-to-Head should be important but SOS is always more important.

i still would like to know how much stronger manchesters schedule so far this season is that much stronger than easterns? Peebles is the only quality win i can find so far. i am not that familar with all of their opponets records but what i can find the records are not that impressive, ecspecially to jump above a team that has already defeated them.

Might want to check out Whiteoak's schedule.

Lead D3 Oak Hill by 17 beforel losing by 3
Lead D2 6-2 Hillsboro and lost in OT
Defeated D3 Eastern Brown
Lost to Manchester
Lost to D3 North Adams
Lost to much improve Paint Valley
Defeated D3 Lynchburg
Defeated Fairfield

4-5 is not great...but that is a very competitive schedule for a D4 school of 84 boys

It seems that you place a very high priority on team records. An example would be Whiteoak (a team you obviously know absolutely nothing about) taking D2 Hillsboro to OT, or leading Oak Hill for almost the entire game before losing by 3 or beating quality D3 Eastern Brown who held Albany Alexander to 28 points earlier this year. When you look at Whiteoak - all you see is 4-5. Soon to be 4-6 after playing Peebles this Friday. When in reality they are a quality D4 ball team.

No reason to drop a team if they are 7-0 and beat Manchester. As of now I don't care who they played Eastern deserves the top spot.

this is pointless . good quality team?? controversial game??? i was talking about the here and now. i thought the rankings are about wins & losses right now not what an opponets record might be down the road. they will be wins and losses for manchester, eastern, south webster and the other quality teams later down the road. it will all come out in the mix come playoff time regardless of everyones SOS.

I'm still not sold guys ... You can justify this and justify that - you can talk about S.O.S and BCS rankings ... But the snag in everyone's philosophy is that EASTERN remains undefeated ... NO BCS team or NFL team (or whatever other team or sport you want to compare) drops below a team that they beat WHILE STILL UNDEFEATED ... It just doesn't make sense.

Now - If Eastern happens to lose - then you have reasoning & debate in the rankings.

I92 - Eastern won in the Convo (A neutral floor)

Eastern is undefeated they beat Manchester head to head, Eastern number 1 with out any question. The SOS thing is a joke, naturally you are going to say the team in your area has a tougher schedule especially if they beat your team. In a poll you can't be bias because a team is in your area. How many times have we heard about how weak the TVC is? Only to see every year they send two or three teams out of their sectional. I can't remember a league with as much height as the TVC has this year. As far as the Whiteoak-Oak Hill game goes Oak Hill just finished the football playoffs and if I remember right one of their best players was out with a football injury. Manchester may be the best team but for now Eastern is number 1 no question. streetballer you played Eastern at the Convo nothing happened in that game for you to continue to cry about. It makes your school look bad. I never heard Eastern crying last year when Manchester beat them on a last second shot. JC to answer your hypothetical question if Eastern goes undefeated they are number 1, they have Chesapeake on their schedule and that would certainly put their SOS way up there.

Ok, what if Manchester had beat Eastern Meigs by 2 this year on neutral floor after leading by 12 at the half. Ok, following me here. Next Eastern Meigs beats Chesapeake and goes to 6-1. Following still, now dont you at least consider moving Eastern Meigs to #1 for beating Chesapeake?

I am not from Manchester and am completely unbiased - I am familiar at least on paper with every part of the Southeast District and not just my area. Answer the above question honestly because believe it or not Peebles is right with Chesapeake, Piketon, Ironton, when it comes to talent.
