Warren
Rushing 1205 yds, 207 carries, 5.8 ypc, 12 TD's
Passing 1988 yds, 143 of 279 51%, 13.8 ypc, 19 TD's
Total 3193 yds or 319.3 per game
228 points scored for a 22.8 average per game

Pretty good numbers that most high school coaches would take any day. Maybe would like the point total to be up, but most would be happy with over 300 yards a game.

As a comparison...Remember I am a Marietta guy, always have been, but let's be realistic and open minded about the numbers and the statement.
Rushing 1576 yds, 386 carries, 4.1 ypc, 17 TD's
Passing 518 yds, 28 of 63 44%, 18.5 ypc, 6 TD's
Total 2094 yds or 209.4 per game
168 points scored for a 16.8 average per game

Not a smart comment coming from a fan of a team that put up much smaller numbers. Now I know what you are going to say, "Well Marietta won the game between them." In which case you would be correct. But let's look at it based on your comment above.

Warren - 28 points, First downs 14; Rushes/yds 33-119; Passing yds 282, 410 Total Yards

Offense was not the problem for the Warriors in the game.

Warrens numbers were boosted by pounding weaker teams and continuing to use starters longer against those teams. Against the better teams in the league Warrens numbers were not that good. Comparing Warren to MHS isn't a fair comparison. Warren returned many players from a 7-3 team and expected to be much better than 5-5. Marietta wasn't supposed to light it up. Anyhow, most of Warrens yards came from jump balls to a wide receiver that could out jump everyone. Their offense isn't exactly a precision, pick-them-apart offense that many make it out to be is my point.

Warren was 0-10 for several years....we'll take 7-3 and even 5-5 last year...we're still in a rebuild mode program-wise....we're hoping we're on the right track....we have some talent (but we're trying to keep it quiet) and Andy has assembled the best coaching staff in years at Warren this year....the kids have the Marrieta game red circled already....hope the results are one of those games our numbers get boosted by pounding a weaker team! Quit looking ahead at games, it does no good to think about a game that far ahead, only worry about what is going on right now and when it comes to the first game of the first week worry about that and so on. The Marietta game is only one game, when it is time to play them Andy will have the boys only thinking of that game.

I do get a little fired up, tiss the season when August comes around and you know it's time for football, I'm from the old school and you just don't look to far ahead at games as i was told it will cause you to have that mental road block and not give you focus. GO BLUE!

Warren should be just fine this year. Coach Schob's second year at the helm and kids are getting used to him and his system. Warren should finish with more wins than losses this year. Worry about Marietta when the time comes. Right now, the focus should be on week one and Philo.

The Warriors have there midnight practice tonight and will start hitting, should be a good time like last year and hope to see who's taking on new posisitions on the team, the one I know of is the move of Austin Henthorn to guard on the O line.

Chatted with a fellow that went to the scrimmage. Defense against the runs up middle or off tackle 7 to 8 yds per carry for Point. Said he thought it looked like a 3-5 for the Warriors, so this could be chalked up to learning a different set-up. Most of all passing went to Fivecoait, then Hasty, then Vincent. Fivecoait patterns were what we used to call a banana route up side line, deep post, or settle into short outside flat or slip across middle. Tried to hide Hasty coming out ans across middle. Couldn't remember Vincent. So what about Miller, was he involved? What about running game? How did Leff look? Could line give him time? He did say that #78 on line did not move around to much. One word "Harlow" Does anyone have any more info, anything? I could not go, so any help? Any sighting of Knost? Bigbluedad, pretty sure you were there any answers to anything above or corrections, do not want to start anything just looking fo some details. Talked with another man today that said that Knost was not at the scrimmage and a couple are bumped up and also told me about Windland. So sorry to hear about that, hope all is going well with him and he will return very soon. Also must keep in perspective scrimmage situations have nothing to do with your game day personell. Many different personell being tried and different groups put together to see how they play together, etc. Come on Philo.

Yes it is very similar to the spinner series from the single wing.
I'll still never forget the single wing two-point conversion play Marietta ran at Bill Sauer Field the last trip they made up there. As a historian of the game, I really got a kick out of seeing a team run - and quite well!

Update on Knost, he was on vacation with his family and came back to practice tonight.
I was there and the answer to your Knost question is I don't think he was there Saturday night, but I could be wrong he might have been wearing a different practice jersey. Basically we looked rough and need some more time in practice on a lot of things. Some went right some went wrong. Windland is back but he will need some time to get his strength back after being so sick just glad he's ok. I'm sure we did not see everyone where they will finally be on a game situation as Andy and the coach's were trying different things with the personell. We will see how things go when we go to Herbert Hoover this friday night. GO BLUE!

Herbert Hoover is about an hour and 45 minutes from here, it is east of Charleston in Clendenin. Windland did some lite workout yesterday with the team, just glad he's back and feeling better.
