Blevins is infact a good player! Blevin is averaging 19ppg 12rpg and Justice is averaging nearly 25ppg 6rpg and 5assistspg. Also Justice had landed him a scholarship from a D1 program. Yes Blevins may be 1st team all ohio. Remember Tyler Shoemaker from Chesapeake a few years ago he was a district player of the year and an all ohio performer also but he was not a D1 athlete or player. Yet obviously Blake Justice is!

Its only cause they are d3, thats why these polls stink. Its like apples to oranges when you put all the schools in the same poll. Thats why the state has divisions

i hate to admit this because of the p#^%*n match that i have had about eastern & manchester but, the Blevins kid is a very good ball player. maybe one of the 4 or 5 best that i have seen in the last couple of years.

agree...but the fact still remains.....they played each other and Manchester won and their SOS is very much identical and their loss column is the same.

I want to see how they both fare against Ripley. Ripley seems like the team to beat in the SHL.

he doesn't have them higher because of being D3 over D4...otherwise he wouldn't have Peake over Logan Elm....or CHillicothe who has 2 D1 players as well.

Carter from Ironton did play in the first half against John Glenn but he didn't start.

Is it really worth going on this long about? Manchester plays Peebles again the 25th...if the greyhounds win both matchups the debate is over...if not I still believe Peebles is the stronger team. Only time will tell as far as Ripley is concerned. I cant wait to see the matchups between the blue jays and the greyhounds/indians.

Also, Manchester didn't run away with a win, either. That was one of the closest, most exciting games I've ever seen. I think Manchester played their best game, and Peebles didn't. I agree with Ironman, though...Ripley is the control for this experiment, and the Hounds/Indians rematch is going to be one to watch.

Agreed, I would not put any stock into a 2pt win on their home floor with two Peebles starters(Both currently average double digits in scoring) on the bench frequently with foul trouble. One shot clanging one way or another does not make either the better team in my mind. If Manchester wins at Peebles they are the legitimate top team in the SHL small division but until that happens im still sticking with my preseason pick to win it.

I'm not basing anything other than what they have done so far.

If I had to put money on it I'd go with Peebles if the game was anywhere other than Manchester.

Manchester had to count their loss to Eastern in a similar fashion......Peebles does as well.

He was in the game within a minute or so though.

dime-a-dozen: Good list, even though you've taken a lot of heat about it.......it will be interesting to see if Portsmouth makes your top 8 if we win at Ironton and at Warren next week.

manchester is better than peebles and will proove it the 25th...they have way more scorin threats than wat peebles has...the #5 and #6th scorers in d-4 in the state..#2 rebounder in d-4 in the state..and #1 assists leader in d-4 in the state

As of right now i do believe if the Trojans beat either one of those 2 they may find them a place in the elite 8 come wednesday. We will just have to see though.

Peebles has 4 guys that average double figures. Stats dont lie...here they are playing similiar competition.

Peebles avgs.-75ppg 17apg
Manchester avgs.-70ppg 16apg

I'm just very skeptical that very many teams turn in their stats to that site.

Oak Hill went down to Valley by 11.....and I know it was very early on for the Oaks but had way more trouble with Whiteoak than Manchester and Peebles did...though Whiteoak was right on Peebles most all of the game.

Could Eastern, Manchester and Peebles all jump the Oaks?

Eastern being undefeated AND beating Manchester will get them their earning in the top 8

Piketon beats a hot Huntington team, by 15 at Huntington. Moves to 11-0

Unioto becomes the 1st SVC team to win at the Dome this season, with a 60-52 decision over Westfall.

Paint Valley moved to 7-3 with a win over winless Adena, 59-40.

Southeastern pounded Zane Trace by 20. ZT has now lost 6 straight since starting the season 3-1.

I'm very impressed at how much Paint Valley has improved.
