Warrior CC...being a previous "TRUE BLUE" award winner myself i have always said, even last year, that Henthorn is the best canidate to win this award...in case you dont know what that is it is a an award that is given at the banquet for the person that hustles, dives for loose balls, gives 110% all the time, and knows his role and shuts down opposing key players...and i have seen austin play since he was in pee-wee so i have got quite a few looks at him...i know each one of the kids personally and would never say anything to them that i didnt think would help improve their game...i just know how to do it without sounding like an jerk...i am kind of wondering what you are wanting out of Venham?..yeah he missed a few shots but still had 16 points and probably around 10 boards...must be nice to be able to have a disappointing season ans still average a double-double a game...i thought as a team we played the best defense i have seen in the first half...Ward, Hilvy, Henthorn and Austin did a great job on their guards...my DD (Dee Dee) player of the game goes to Ausitn...he played a great game on both sides of the ball...

Bankshot...I agree Mr. Cunningham is a GREAT BASKETBALL PLAYER, however saying he plays ALWAYS as a teammate I differ. He has his moments where he gets caught up in the me game and the two man game with ur (must be blood) Mr. Venham. And this is not a bash but Ive seen Mr. Venham play his freshmen year a little harder than what he is now. I would be impressed if he would just give back to back efforts and keep this up until the seasons over. Seems like sometimes he doesnt care if he is on the floor due to interest elsewhere or something. Not sure but I will say that this talented young man has the ability to carry this Team on his back and I personally think he doesnt want that...Maybe understanding that he wont get another chance to go to a state basketball tourney after this year but again....I really dont think he cares. The team really could use his efforts in showing them that he is out on the floor giving it is ALL and this would trickle down and show true leadership! So im sorry for speaking my mind but Truth always hurts sometimes and Ive seen him play with alot more WANT! The sun comes out tmrw.

Austin is definitely a team player you couldn't find one person that ever played with him that would say otherwise. He knows when he needs to score and how to do it. Venham is one of the hardest workers i know yea he may not be giving 110% when they are beating a sub-par team by 16 points but i wouldn't either. If warren wanted to they could of beat FF by 30 they just had some respect for there opponents. You always have some negative comments about Cunningham its not his fault he puts up 20 a game he does what he needs to so his team gets the win.

CC congrats you finally figured me out eventhough i have talked about being his brother before...there is nobody else in this world that is harder on grant than his oldest brother and me...so there you have it i am a venham and DARN PROUD OF IT!!!!...i would think that if you have been watching grant since his freshman year that you would know by now that grant never changes his attitude whether has has 32 points or if he and an off night like you say he had lastnight with 16 points...thats one thing i am very proud of my little well younger brother is the fact that whether he is the headline in the sports page or just in the stat box he is the same person and has the same emotion on and off the court or football field...grant doesnt take credit for his talent he gives God the glory and is well-respected for that...so there you go swing away like you always do enjoy trash talking teenagers and a 26 year old

Now thats a Ballgame! Super ballgame at Warren lastnight with everyone contributing!
Good job AC in another good game. Austin Henthorn you are so fun to watch, I told you last night that your new nickname was THE GLOVE! Tyler you played a super game, and Im glad we put that extra shooting in the other night cause it paid off. Proud of ya after that game!
Blane that was the best move ya made all year by getting that T! Really got the kids motivated and was probably a smart idea because we seemed a little flat. Just an overall great game from everyone especially defensively. The only thing missing was the STUDENT SECTION FROM MARIETTA! THOSE KIDS FROM TIGER LAND ARE THE LOUDEST AND BEST IN THE AREA AND BEST IVE SEEN SINCE IVE WATCHED BASKETBALL WHEN MY BROTHERS PLAYED! Id love to see out student section get that involved because it does help.
And Hats off to Fred Ruth for some great music lastnight....Good mix for everyone.
Keep up the good play because its almost BASKETBALL THIRTY!

FF gave Warren as good of a game as they could but the Warriors showed the Cadets how to play defense how to take care of the ball and how to pick and make your shots. FF will get back on the winning track vs the Zeps while Warren will pound a very overmatched Belpre team.

Big Bad Blue.

EasternDspy wrote:Good win for the Warriors they are a good team.Fort Frye turned the ball over 2 many times and missed way to many free throws.I do not agree with you that Blaine Maddox is better coach then Dan.That is a joke Dan has over 400 wins 4 sweet 16s ,final 4, 13 Pvc titles, and has had like 2 losing seasons in 20 years.Yea Warren has won recently with Cunningham and Venham the last 2 years but before that FF owned this series.
Yes, he has over 400 wins which is to be commended but he has coached much longer and has piled up wins against D3 and D4 schools in the PVC. Also it is much easier to go deeper in the tourney in SE Ohio in D3/D4 than it is in D2. All things considered Maddox has a better overall program than Liedtke but I still give Dan a tip of the cap for his work at FF. I just wish he would pick either the boys or girls program to coach and not both. Not sure as to what he is trying to prove.

Dont get to hiped up on this program at Warren...And Coach L although being in a smaller division, def has earned his stripes...more so than Mr. Maddox.
Coach L emphasizes the word TEAM alot more and doesnt have a senior rule or really has no favorites. He gets the best out of whatever he is dealt and treats everyone as equal...a true TEAM COACH. Warren continues to have great athletes but doesnt advance when they should. Still think that Warren has had several opportunities to go far but due to the way things are still yet to get there. So again this year could be one of those type years because the athletes and talent is there. Still disagree with whats put on the floor to start and the chemistry needed isnt there...I will stick to what Ive said that the stronger team isnt being put on the floor...Even with Mr.Knost back, the strongest team is still the 4 I mentioned in previous posts with subs doing there part. Id love to see Coach L have this same group of kids and see who would play the most, very interesting and could even see only 1 senior on the floor at times. So just something to ponder and sure this post will cause some negative feedback but AS ALWAYS...THE TRUTH HURTS IN HAPPYTOWN!
The sun comes out tmrw! :|

Warren always has had the better talent yet FF has held its own in this series with Coach L.That is because Dan is a winner. When he leaves the boys he will really be missed.Dan is a much better coach he does more with less.

Warren basketball has been consistently better since coach Maddox went there. In my book, he's a very fine high school coach.

I have seen Fort Frye guards get manhandled bigger, stronger teams on more than one occasion, and I've seen enough Warren/FF games to guess that happened again in this one. It would not hurt Fort Frye's program at all for some of the kids to get into the weight room.
