SJ does have a nice Senior Class but these kids were in the 8th grade when SJ won their last sectional and went to the Convo. Might wanna check your facts.

Nice shot with the sarcasm at SJ's expense. SJ has won 9 games and of the 6 losses had the lead in the 4th quarter in 3 of them and had it within 2 points with less than a minute in one more. So, no matter who they've played and what their stature as a power is, their record of 9-6 is pretty good.

Wheelersburg is a sleeper in the Jackson sectional,if that makes any sense,Barrick just keeps on winning games, enough now to be in serious contention for one of the top three seeds, which even now if they drop to the 4 it seems like the Oaks will come in limping due to some unfortunate injuries to very key players which now would favor Burg in a win over the Oaks in a 4-5 matchup.Ironton Burg is now not as important as it was yesterday.

SOUTHEASTERN is probably the 3rd best team after Fairland and meigs but i doubt they get seeded above Alex. they will be a victim of politics and fall to 4 or 5.

Chesapeake is a cinch #1, and if Portsmouth can beat Marietta and Gallia Academy, I feel they deserve the #2 seed.........it will be interesting to see who gets the #1 at Waverly, but right now I give the nod to Piketon over Peebles, with the Indians being #2.

I think Peebles gets the 1 in Waverly because they have imo played a tougher schedule, the loss to Zanesville doesn't help or hurt Piketon,if it would have been played closer say under ten it would have perhaps helped. There are no big wins on their schedule, while Peebles does not have an outstanding RPI. theirs may be just a hair above Piketons,I think that Peebles have more weapons offensively, defense is about the same,I would pick Peebles by 8.Justice and Legg equal out,but Countryman gets 22pts the difference in the game.

Peebles plays mix of small schools and schools their size. Piketon plays a mix of larger schools and schools their size. Schedules don't compare as don't apples and oranges.

You are entitled to your opinion but I beg to differ. Peebles has played non league Southeastern Ross, 5th in the SVC 7-8 (5-6), St Patricks Kentucky 5-12, Paint Valley 3rd SVC 9-5 (6-4), Western Latham 0-15? 1 loss for Peebles to Manchester.

Piketon, Greenfield McClain, Mifflin, Western Latham, Waverly, Zanesville. You say the loss to Zville doesnt count because a loss cannot help you? You are right when speaking about opinion polls on seops, however figuring out your weaknesses to a team like that will help in the long run.

Where Piketon is at will come down to the final stretch with the 4 league games and the game against Vinton Co.

I ask you this, if Piketon had scheduled St. Pats and won being 15-0, and Peebles went with Zanesville and lost going to 13-2, would you still be saying that loss cant help you? LOL

Peebles is in the small school division of the SHL, with Manchester, Fairfield, Whiteoak, and Fayateville. Manchester 113 boys, Fairfield 103 boys, Whiteoak 84 boys, Fayateville 99 boys, and Peebles with 147.

The other division has North Adams 165, West Union 174, Ripley 174, Eastern Brown 154, Lynchburg 147.

SVC Adena 134, Huntington 158, Paint Valley 151, Piketon 202, Unioto 246, Southeastern 173, Westfall 220, Zane Trace 211.

Peebles played 2 D III teams non league, both SVC and 2 D IV teams in St Pats Kentucky and Western Latham. Sounds like they need to schedule up a little! lol

Not really...Piketon played {5} D2 schools with combined record of (40-34); While Peebles has played {4} D4 schools with combined record of (30-24). Common opponents Peebles beat Southeastern by 40; Piketon beat Southeastern by 30; Peebles beat Paint Valley by 11; Piketon beat Paint Valley by 37.

Record-wise, Piketon's non-conference schedule has been a bit of a letdown(McClain, Mifflin, Western, and Waverly are all worse than expected) but I don't think that you can argue Peebles' schedule being better in anyway at all. Outside of Western(who they both play) I'd take Piketon's non-league schedule over anyone else in the Waverly schedule.

And, with that non-league schedule, they set themselves up to play various traditionally strong schools and to set themselves up for another long tournament run, while I'm not sure what Peebles was going for with their schedule, maybe just build up wins?

Jimmy- You could also throw in that Peebles beat SE by 40 when they didn't have Michael Brown.

The Jackson sectional is getting interesting to try and figure out. With Oak Hill having the injury bug and 2 straight losses, they could drop down a few spots with another loss or 2 possible before the draw. My possible seeds as of today are:

1. Chesapeake
2. Portsmouth
3/4. Winner of the Burg @ Ironton game next week gets 3 and loser gets 4.
5/6. Winner of the Valley @ Oak Hill game coming up gets 5, loser goes to number 6. (If Valley wins, this would be their 2nd win over OH this year)
7. Minford
8. Rock Hill
9. South Point
