Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
Still havent answered on why you stall the ball with two minutes to go when our boys are in foul trouble. I would have taken it right at cannon! We wanted you to stall it we didnt want to get any more fouls...thanks
Waverly hasnt beaten oak hill in the past 7 games bad refs in all those games? Or outplayed and coached.
I love the norm haters too..look what the mans done..respect it!!

Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
tap in bogey,
Did you get my PM?
MOF and Downtown,
It is very clear there was NO grabbing between the legs on the part of #0 so quit the character assassination of a 16 year old to justify the Oaks cheap shots. Waverly may not be as physical as Oak Hill but they're not taught to play dirty either.
oaks one,
Where you been? I have read numerous comments on this site from other schools about Oak Hill dirty play.
crazee-oakaholic,
I'm not a coach but can only summize that with the Tigers being up with 2 minutes to play and Oak Hill packed in the zone the Tigers decided to sit on it in an attempt to draw the Oaks out of the zone. If Oak Hill doesn't come out Waverly gets the last shot to possibly increase their lead at the half. Waverly took a 7 point lead into the locker room. Was it the proper stradegy? Don't know. I do know Oak Hill cleaned things up in the locker room and came out the 2nd half and played basketball - maybe that's why they won.
bunt pirate,
I doubt it goes down that way.

Character assassination? I didn't know we were discussing political diplomats here or something of significant importance. It's just a game and if some player from Waverly wants to fondle somebody, he should do it on his own time and accord; Not in a basketball game.

Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
I haven't said anything about any players character or their sexual orientation. I could care less. Just stating the facts. Things go on that people don't always see and watching the game on video from the top of waverly's gym is not going to show it either. What always happens in games? The second person is always the one that gets caught.
Btw, are you the one that was thrown out of the girls game from the scorers table a couple of years ago?

Nope im not that type i would have been the type who is the first one there and knocked the crap out of the guy who did that to my team-mate but thats just me........... we were taught dont be the first but once it starts finish it. Sounds like you might need to open that door to your closet and peek outside as much as you bring up the fondling thing. lol

Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
uh huh you actually think!! wow surprises me lol.. ur good fun and u can read a big plus, are you sure someone isnt reading this to you? kinda like the old joke hey the library in oak hill burned down it wasnt much of a loss there was only three books the dots had been connected in 2 and the other had already been colored in.... lmbo see now wasnt that fun?
Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
MOF, it's ok lol. Waverly's just upset because they won't finish with a winning record, and lose in the first round of the tourney. Plus, they have the second most talent of any team in this area and still can't win games. That's a shame for the community.

kinda like oak hill last yr dang hope we dont follow in those footsteps
Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
Oak Hill only lost one player, who was legit. By the way, how many other teams in SOC2 history say that they have went 20-0 during the regular season?

Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
This is easily the most immature thing I've ever read on here.
Yes, Waverly has 2 Division 1 athletes, but they have virtually nothing else. It's not a huge wonder to anyone on the outside why they aren't dominating everyone. Someone brought up how they have had more talent in the past 4 years, but Roback went D1 for football, not basketball, Walls, went D1 for football, not basketball. Just because you are a division 1 athlete, doesn't mean you're going to excell at everything you do. Akron SVSM has a player on their basketball team who is going to OSU on a football scholarship and he can't get off of their bench for the basketball team.
Waverly will be fine and could make it back to the Convo in D2 if they get a good draw. They have a good coaching staff, 2 great players, and a bunch of supporting parts who are working to get better.
Coach Persin is one of the best coaches in not only this area's history, but in state history. He's done a fantastic job and his players will always play hard. If there was a cheap shot and he sat his player the rest of the game, that's all that needed to be said. There's no reason to call a bunch of kids anything that all of you guys on this thread are calling them(i.e.: gay, thugs, dirty) The people from both sides of this need to grow up and move on, the game was on Saturday and it's now Tuesday. Go to work and quit fighting over a message board about a past game(or past years)

jimmy,
I've made some points over there as well, but I've also got a few more thoughts of this ridiculous thread if anyone else posts, I'm in a great mood today, so seeing some of these things are making it even better(seeing how immature and fearless people are behind a screenname)

Re: waverly vs. oakhill 1/22
I am not worried about it. Waverly fans were/are upset, which is fine, but they act like we have no right to be upset as well. It is a two-way street often times and the blinders are always on. I learned long ago to look at both sides.Downtown wrote:MOF, it's ok lol. Waverly's just upset because they won't finish with a winning record, and lose in the first round of the tourney. Outside looking in,it would appear that the coach done the right thing by benching a key player for the rest of the game for his actions, what more do you want him to do,most coaches may not have even done that.

I agree. Even if what you are saying was true about the ref giving the coach the option. Who is to say he wouldn't put him back in the game later. What is the ref going to do then, throw him out for what he did earlier. Coach Persin is to be commended for his great leadership.
