1/22 - Ironton 59 VS CHESAPEAKE 74 - FINAL

Post by caglewis »

ALMOST GAME TIME
ON THE RADIO - WIRO 1230 AM
ON THE INTERNET AT: http://www.foxsports1420.com/main.html.
Ignore the "LISTEN LIVE" link at the upper left - it doesn't work! - INSTEAD....
Scroll down a ways and in the middle column click on the box showing both the Fox Sports and the iheartradio logos; then click on stream HERE; then put ZIPcode 45638 in the small box at the top left. Then click on Fox Sports 1230 & 1420. Kind of cumbersome, I know, but it gets you there!

The pre-game show came on at 8:35. I checked the above internet connection, and it was coming in loud and clear. GO FIGHTING TIGERS

IT = IRONTON TIGERS ............. CP = CHESAPEAKE PANTHERS

Another foul fest. I think this one beat the last time by 1 foul didnt it? 23-26 is pretty darn good foul shooting by the Panthers. Was a good game otherwise. Thought there for a while the coaches and trainers may have to finish the game for both teams. Great job by both times. May meet again at the convo!

Very good game by the Peake. Jumped to an early 10 point lead and didn't give it up. Trading buckets the rest of the way just couldn't get it done by Ironton. Hard played game by both teams, alot of fouls called. Chesy hit most of theirs. Congrats Peake.

I thought I was watching that Marshall/West Virginia game all over again. Not quite 64 fouls, but it sure did seem like it. I know Chessy had 10 fouls with 4:45 to go in the 2nd and Ironton had 5 (6 not long after that). Let 'em play, guys. I'm all for keeping the game under control, but making games last for 2.5-3 hours is getting a little old :P A happy medium would be nice.

Anyway, congrats, Peake! 3 consecutive SJI 'ships is pretty impressive! Now, let's turn that into something even more impressive like a state championship or something! I'm liking what I'm seeing- there's always someone different stepping up. The team definitely doesn't rely on one player to carry most of the weight. Keep it up boys!

Is Ironton getting healthy? I know they were pretty sick against Portsmouth. Whatever is going on, I fully expect Ironton to make a run in the tournament.

Ironton has a lot of talent but needs to work on playing as a team. Their attitudes need to be reined in too or the only place they will go in the tournament is home. Congrats Peake

Young talent that will go unrealized if coach Lafon don't do something about his "team's" attitude. But he may need to start with his.

I bet they were. They should have lost to little ole Chesapeake, and I'm not talking about the last call. Peake could have and should have won it.

But let's stick to the subject. Our guys beat your guys again. Ironton could be really good of they could control their attitudes and focus on the whole team and not just a select few. Chesapeake plays fantastic team ball and are so successful because of it.

Now what are your opinions of the game? Criticize me all you want, but at least add something productive to it.
