Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
1-26-2011 Rankings
1. Manchester (11-2) - Lost to Peebles this week 84-60. Best Wins = D2 CNE, D3 Peebles, D3 Eastern Brown, and Whiteoak.
2. South Webster (7-3) - Split two games losing to strong D3 Wheelersburg and beating competitive D3 Northwest. Best Wins = Portsmouth, D3 Northwest (2x), and D3 Lucasville Valley.
3. Eastern Meigs (11-2) - Lost to Southern 43-35 and beat Federal Hocking by 10. Best Wins = Manchester, Waterford, D3 Meigs, Trimble, and Wahama.
4. Trimble (9-4) - Won two games this past week getting revenge by defeating Waterford by 20 and handling Miller by 21. Best Wins = D3 Alexander, Southern, D3 Nelsonville York, Waterford, and Wahama on the road.
5. Waterford (6-4) - Split two games losing badly to Trimble before defeating a hot Southern team 52-48. Best Wins = Trimble by 12, Southern (2x), and South Gallia.
6. Green (9-3) - Won 2 games this week against ISJ and New Boston on a last second shot. Best Wins = D3 Minford, Symmes Valley, ISJ, and Eastern Pike. Doesnt have a bad loss!
7. Clay (8-5) - Lost on their home floor to New Boston before beating Western by 45. Best Wins = Eastern Pike, Green, and Symmes Valley. Holding this position by a hair over Symmes Valley.
8. Symmes Valley (10-3) - Won three games this past week blowing out Notre Dame, Coal Grove, and East. Best Wins = South Gallia, Ironton St. Jo, Notre Dame, and Rock Hill. Doesnt have a bad loss! A signature win away from taking a big jump up the rankings.
9. Racine Southern (7-6) - Huge win over Eastern Meigs before losing on the road to Waterford by 4. Best Wins = Wahama, South Gallia, River Valley, and St. Mary's (WV), Eastern Meigs. Questionable loss to Federal Hocking?
10. Fairfield (4-8) - Lost to D3 Peebles 73-60. Best Wins = D2 Miami Trace, Whiteoak, and D3 North Adams by 38. Hot team who will no doubt rise back up the rankings in the future. Little rankings slide is due to positives of the teams in front and not because of the loss to Peebles.
*Whiteoak (5-8) - Beat Fayetteville 65-50. Wins against Fairfield, D3 Eastern Brown, D3 Lynchburg Clay, and New Boston.
Very tough schedule with losses against Oak Hill, Hillsboro, P.Valley, Willamsburg, Fairfield, Manchester, Peebles.
*Eastern Pike (7-5) - Beat ND by 18 this past week. Best Wins = Minford and Notre Dame (2x)?????

Extending the D4 Rankings farther would probably look like this.

14. South Gallia
15. Notre Dame
16. New Boston
17. Hemlock Miller
18. Portsmouth East
19. Western Pike
13. Ironton St. Jo
14. South Gallia
15. Notre Dame
16. New Boston
17. Hemlock Miller
18. Portsmouth East
19. Western Pike

Back to Back losses by the Greyhounds----not the guaranteed #1 seed anymore!
Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
no they are not.....Whiteoak has now won 2 straight including a 14 point victory over the Manchester team
Oak Hill backing out on SW may now be a help.....if SW holds suit they could easily be the #1 seed.

Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
well for one when cheap fouls are called on ur best player of course it limits ur chances of winnin..they are easily still the best team in d-4 in se ohio
Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
easily is way too strong of a word....you can argue they are the best D4 SE district team.....but they also just easily lost to a D4 team they handled easily earlier in the year.
Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
Manchester was living off of the big win over Peebles earlier in the season---respect wise----now that they have been beaten by Peebles by 24 and Whiteoak by 14---makes you question them. There is not a team in the whole district that you can point to and say--they are the BIG favorite to represent the Southeast District in the Regional Finals. Manchester, South Webster, Reedsville are still considered the Big 3, but are starting to slip back to the pack. 2 weeks ago I thought they were EASILY the best teams in the district----not so fast my friends!
Streetballer: Your post doesn't make sense----Manchester has 2 losses vs Division 4 teams. Eastern has 1 loss to Divsion 4 teams. South Webster has 0 losses to Division 4 teams.

has manchester ever lost a game because they got outplayed? seem's like every time they lose it is someone else's fault.streetballer wrote:well for one when cheap fouls are called on ur best player of course it limits ur chances of winnin..they are easily still the best team in d-4 in se ohio

Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
the only true loss they have was to peebles on tuesday they got outplayed like crazy in that game but hell what team wouldnt have trouble with justice
Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
The loss to Eastern Meigs wasn't a TRUE loss? The loss to Whitoeak wasn't a TRUE loss? I dont understand, when one team has more points on the scoreboard than another team, the team with less points loses. They are all true loses, unless you are suggesting that Manchester let those teams win out of pitty. If thats the case then yes, they only have 1 TRUE loss...

Totally agree! Its going to be an interesting final 2-3 weeks to see how things play out.

South Webster WILL pick up a win tonight against D3 Portsmouth West who had Wheelersburg 22-9 at one point last night.

Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 1-26-2011
I asked a mother of a player and she told me they didn't play due to the snow. Not sure what snow they had, but the game is rescheduled for the 4th.
