Oak Hill at Minford Saturday 1-28

Post by mglight88 »

What a ballgame. Went down to the wire with Oak Hill leading by 2 pts (43-41) with 1.5 sec on the clock, Brett Taylor took the inbounds pass about 3/4 court and heaved the ball for a long-distance game winning three-point shot for the Falcons.
Great job Minford getting a much needed win late in the season.

That's awesome. That also puts the Burg back into 1st place all alone atop the SOCII.

With Canon out for the season, the Oaks will have to figure out how to get the inside game from someone else.

Yes, I am sure that God was very disappointed in Norm not scheduling the game. Come on.

4th and Goal : You are correct, it will be tough for the Oaks without Cannon on the inside. He was huge for the Oaks.

One of the best highschool games I've seen in a while. Minford battled, and the oaks let them hang around and hang around. If you let a team stay close long enough bad things happen. Minford took advantage of their oppurtunity. I thought Brett could hit from anywhere in the gym tonight and in fact he could. Congrats to him and the whole team on this win. Hopefully this can spark the team to finish the season strong and win a few tourny games.

Here's a link to video of the shot on youtube for any interested.

Shot shouldn't have counted. Clock keeper waited until he got the shot off to start the clock. Did you see how fast the refs ran off the floor? Something fishy there!!!

The clock is not in the video so one cannot tell when the clock started. With 1.5 seconds remaining it had to have been started before he shot it because the buzzer sounds immediately after he releases the shot. The officials did not run off any faster than any other game. The 3rd official took some time getting off the floor. I love the footage of Norm standing in shock! - PRICELESS.

Not sure where you came up with that theory. I put the stopwatch to it several times and the shot was released very, very close to 1.3 seconds after the inbounds pass was touched by the shooter. There's no doubt the shot counted.

The guys in the white striped shirts say it counted and that's all that matters.
