While it's not very nice, it's hardly profanity and if I were an administrator, I would have told them to stop....and maybe he did, because I only heard it in one instance. Speaking of the deputies...what was up with 2 of them standing in front of the Warren student section at the end of the game like they needed protection? There was absolutely NO indication of any trouble. Big, bad cops trying to look intimidating!
Well, you have to take some measures to protect people from harm, obviously some people were very riled up from how the game turned out, and the last thing anyone wants is 200 high school kids in an all out brawl in the middle of the gym, even if it didn't look like trouble, they can never be too careful.

Warren is in the PVC? dang didn't hear the news about that one.
No they're not. But i've seen numerous Marietta posters rip on FF, so I'll continue to rip on Marietta.

I mean, i'm only stating the truth. Every quality team Marietta has played, they have lost to. Are they even above .500 in the league?
Please list all the quality wins FF has. The PVC is not a very good conference so a winning record in it isn't much to brag about.

That's the thing. I haven't seen anyone, even Eastern, claim FF was some great team. He's admitted FF's schedule this year is weak. That's the difference. While Eastern does like to brag up FF some, he's also realistic about it. Marietta fans can't seem to do this. If they were just realistic about how good their team is, and not claim how much better they were than everyone else, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

But since you asked, here are the wins I would consider as quality wins for FF: Waterford(x2), River(x2), and Monroe Central.
Waterford is 10-5, River is 12-6, and Monroe Central is 13-4.

Plus, nobody has claimed that the PVC is better than the SEOAL, but it's not as bad as some of you would like to think. What do you think is better, winning a league or finishing .500 and 4th in a league?

Please, H20 hasn't won a game outside the TVC Hocking. I am sure River and MC records outside the PVC arent good and if they have won any games outside the PVC who are they and what are their records?

If you want to beat your chest over being the best of the worst, have at it.

The only two non-league games they've played have been against Fort Frye.

In reading some of these posts over the last week or so, I don't understand why anyone from Marietta would be comparing themselves to Fort Frye. You're a big school that has had limited success at your level. Fort Frye is a small school that has had extensive success at its level. So since you can't win at your level, you think talking smack to a smaller, more successful bunch will somehow make you look better?

Hypotheticals are fun. But I'd doubt the sentiment that you could beat Fort Frye in an imaginary match-up makes a 4th place league finish and sectional exit feel any better, nor does it make a league title and potential district appearance feel tainted to any of the kids, parents, coaches, or fans involved.

Most overhyped 4th place league team I've ever seen. Too many short memories in Marietta

Well for one, nobody is beating their chest. But if you want to continue to finish .500 in your league and win nothing, have at it.

Where are you seeing this overhyping? I'd like to see it.

What has Fort Frye won? Some district championships?

You'd have to ask someone from Fort Frye about that if you want extensive information. But in the past 10 years, i'm just going to take a guess and say they have at least 7 or more PVC titles. As far as post-season goes, like I said, you'd have to ask a FF fan. Easterndspy would probably know.

Hardrock, isn't that the truth...I guess when your team was terrible last year, .500 league ball is worth getting excited

the overhyping comes from the fort frye thread, many of the past seoal threads and even on this one... Marietta hasn't really beaten anyone, yet Marietta fans use the you play no-one card on everybody else

I like the argument but no-one can win that discussion, too much difference in size and really the calibur of the programs (maritta-fort frye) are totally different programs
