seoal middle school wrestling tournament

I haven't scene a lot of high school wrestling this year so i have no idea if that tournament will be competitive or not. but the middle school tournament should be something else.

Jackson : only has two wrestlers but one will be really competitive and steal some team points

warren: not a lot of wrestlers either but will compete in a few weight classes.

Marrietta: only has about 10 wrestlers but everyone one of them are good wrestlers. this team will probably finish 4th. but the biggest why will be because not a full team. squad much improved over last year.

logan: full team a lot of young wrestlers who have scene to have gotten better each time i've scene them wrestle this year. will be right in the hunt.

gallia academy: almost a full roster. good mix of 8th and 7th graders a lot of kids coming on late in season.


Chillicothie: full team and look pretty good. compared to last year. i think they had 4 or 5 wrestlers at leagues. this team is a tight together motivated group. seem to look better each time i've scene this year.

should be a three way battle to the end. a lot of kids have been in several different weight classes the last few weeks. a lot will be decided by where they all shake out. and who matches up with who.

some one said high school tournament was going to be pools. will middle school tournament be the same. if so how will the team scoring be added together from pulls. just curious on how it will work out.

I believe that it is a pool tournament with dual style score, plus placement points.

I can't wait, it's going to be a very close tournament with lots of good young wrestlers.

This was posted on the high school thread.

We will score 6-5-4-3 in the round robin matches, then based on records, we will score 14-10-7-4 for placement.

9:00 – Scales Open
10:00 – Weigh-Ins Begin
11:00 – Wrestling Begins

Admission: Adults $5.00
We will be using four mats.

The Marietta Athletic Boosters will be providing concession throughout the tournament

The tournament will alternate rounds between JR High and High School with the first round being JR High starting at 11 am.

High School and Middle School rounds could be run concurrently depending on the number of matches per round. It may not be a set rotation, HS and MS could be on the mat at the same time. There will be plenty of communication via PA during the tournament giving updates on when rounds will begin.

It will all revolve around the 45 minute rule, and keeping it moving and efficient as possible.

i think Logan will take enough second and thirds in weight classes to keep this a 3 team battle.
just hope no one gets hurt and it is a great day of wrestling.
