South Gallia has played teams with a combined record of 182-151 and has a 8-10 record.

Ironton St. Joe has played teams with a combined record of 119-225 and has a 10-8 record.

This is a huge difference.

I too think Miller will win this game!!!!!

I also think BlindWhiteHat has no reason being on here if he isnt going to back up what he says. 119-225.......Sounds like everyone is beating the teams you play!!!!

You also stated St. Joe won 7 of 9.......well it was against 65-108 teams. Every team you beat during that stretch had double digit losses.

Cat got your tongue!

But that also means they beat the teams they were supposed to during that stretch......Miller is a team they should beat.

I am confident enough that St. Joe will beat Miller that I will make a little wager if the two of you are willing. If St. Joe loses, I will turn in my password and never post on SEOP again. Are you guys willing to do the same?

Vision Quest gave all the reasons that I would have given as to why St. Joe deserved a better seed but I didn't feel they would get seeded higher than #8 because of the process.

I do find it funny how a certain SG supporter is counting "good losses" on the SG resume' as well as the ever-popular "Yeah we got beat but our best player didn't play". How weak.
I believe part of the reason for this is that those coaches have the players running through brick walls at SG. I have asked but have been unable to get confirmation on this, or if it has helped or hurt their performance. However, I do believe this has something to do with what you are saying.

That is the mentality of this SG supporter...always trying to make it look better than it actually is...SG is one and done in the tourney

When is the St Joe and Webster game being played. I saw it on both schedules but heard that a make up date hasn't been set yet. Why?? If the game was scheduled, shouldn't it be played?

Nevermind, just read in another topic that Webster is asking teams if anyone needs a game. I guess ISJ isn't going to play Webster this year. Just not understanding why it isn't being played.

Tripleplay, Both schools submitted dates to each other but none matched. They thought that Feb 19th would work but ISJ students have a academic thing at Marshall that day. ISJ plays tonight and Thursday and again the 22nd in the Tourney leaving very little room to work with.

Here is the problem with this logic. SG is in a league which makes its opponents' record better automatically. All teams within a conference will have opponents record right around .500 if you only consider the league games because when league play is over, the combined winning percentage of all league teams (within league play only) is .500. That is a great place to start since every TVC member plays 16 league games leaving only 4 games to schedule out of conference. If every league team can win 3 of 4 out of conference games, then your opponents winning percentage goes up dramatically.

St. Joe has no guarantees with its schedule as an independent. They could presumably go 0-20 against 20 different opponents and their opponents could have a combined winning percentage of .050. That could never happen for SG. They could go 0-20 and the lowest their opponents winning percentage could ever be is around .450.

My point is not to bag on the TVC and how strong or weak its members are. It is to point out that SG is not CLEARLY better than St. Joe. SG won two games by a combined total of 6 points. You have those teams play 100 times at neutral locations and no way does SG win them all as some tend to believe.

P.S. The offer is still out there on who wins the St. Joe/Miller game. Hello mouth; meet money. :)

With regards to Webster/St. Joe's, why not schedule it next week for the 24th or 25th? It would be a game for varsity experience for some of the younger players (I know I would severely limit starters' minutes in a game like that) plus keep the players focused due to the long layoff between last regular season game and tourney. If it is in fact St. Joe's just not wanting to play (which is what I keep hearing), I wouldn't bother scheduling them again if I was Webster. I still can't understand why they are on the schedule anyways.*

Hey Art, St. Joe won at Webster in 2009, so it's not like the series has been lopsided. Have not heard here why we are not playing. If ISJ wins the 22nd, they could use a game to stay sharp also.

Did someone mention a bet? Oh yes, that was me on the St. Joe/Miller game but so far, no takers.
