D2 SE District
Re: D2 SE District
Will be interesting to see how the Adena sectional unfolds. The #4 seed, Greenfield McClain, beat the #1 seed, Miami Trace, by 14 points last night in a regular season game. The #5 seed, Logan Elm, came within 4 points of the #1 seed and beat the #2 seed in regular season games. I feel like those 4 teams all know each other pretty well, and Jackson is a bit of an unknown. They have a great record and the losses they do have were close games. Look like a very young, but talented team.

It will be very interesting....any one of about 6 teams could be our regional representative.

Re: D2 SE District
i think Miami Trace's loss to McClain woke them back up because they came out last night and took it out on Circleville 71-33. the same thing happened last year when McClain handed MT their 1st loss, after that, they started playing better and went on a roll to the state semi-finals. hopefully, the loss gets them refocused and they start playing like they did at the beginning of the yr. if they don't, it will be an early exit at Adena.
Re: D2 SE District
does anybody know anything about South Point? i can't find anything about them. last year they came into the sectional 19-1 or something like that and got put out in the 2nd round. do they play in tough conference or do they rack up alot of wins vs lesser competition? just wondering

I know they reside somewhere down in the Lawrence County area - which is notorious for producing outstanding athletics amongst the schools. I know CHESAPEAKE & IRONTON are in that area - as is WHEELERSBURG. Other teams such as Coal Grove, Fairland, Rock Hill, Ironton St. Joe, Symmes Valley and Green are also down around South Point. I just don't know exactly how their divided in terms of league affiliation.

South Point is very good. Their conference isn't a great one.....but they are a top tier D2 SE district team this year.

I think I remember reading that SP had two 1,000 point juniors last year. So if that's the case then they have two 1,000+ point seniors this year. I have no idea if that is true or not though, so I could be wrong.

Their conference is weak. They have 3 good players. # 22 # 32 # 5 They hope # 22 can turn the other team's point guard over for quick buckets. The OVC my be the weakest conference in southern Ohio.
Re: D2 SE District
thanks everyone. bulldog, i have been keeping track of all the teams in the district since about halfway thru the season. south point is the only one i always had trouble finding any info about. the tvc website is very helpful since it's hard to get their scores up here in fayette county.

Hillsboro must be pretty bad because What I have seen of Waverly, they have very little.Ironman92 wrote:Waverly will win that one I imagine.
Re: D2 SE District
Hillsboro has improved as the yr has went on. the wins haven't come but they fight hard until the final buzzer no matter the score. the willey girl is pretty good, she's averaging around 15 pts/gm.

The starters played about 2 and a half to 3 quarters. Desales was lights out. It was their senior night. #10 for Desales had 41 points. They hit just about everything they shot from beyond the arc. A late second quarter run, and a huge 29 point 3rd quarter put the game away. Very athletic team. They(Desales) had a tendency to "carry" the ball, but overall, they just played really well. Definitely wasn't Unioto's day.
