Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
Colin has had an apartment right in the middle of Chesapeake since he transferred here a year ago. I'm not positive if they still have their residence in Kentucky but as long as Colin has been here he has also had residency in Chesapeake. Nice try though

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
Can't comment on where any Chesapeake players reside or the Fisher/Hintz comparisons but.... I know for a fact at no time did a RV asst/jv basketball coach EVER officiate a varsity boys basketball game at RV. Also, there was never a varsity or jv game with only one official working.
Where you come up with this crap I have no idea.
I can think of two crews off the top of my head that you might not have seen in Lawrence County before. One of those is from Lancaster and the other from Meigs/Gallia Counties. Basically the officials you see at RV are the same officials you will see at many other schools throughout the season.
We could talk about the time I walk into the Chesapeake gym and see one of the varsity officials watching the JV game. Oh yeah, he just happened to be wearing a Chesapeake basketball sweat shirt. WTF up with that?

LOL. Crap...riiiight.
We played with a single ref and he was a track coach, my apologies, at RV that sat on your bench the entire JV game.
2002 game at RV, look it up

Go green
Uhh, where's Copley in your "lineup".. Haha. As far as the game, there will be matchup problems all night for Fairland. They'll have to shoot well to even have a chance..

You are on the mark 0 for Monday,
I happened to park behind Colin's car @ B. ball game the other night and he was sporting Ohio plates. This is exactly how lies are started. As far as I know, there is no law making it illegal to own property in more than one state.

It happened, 2002. Their asst coach was their track coach as well I believe, could have been their freshmen coach though. He was on their bench during jv game, and then when we played he was our referee and the ONLY ref. Sorry but I have NEVER NEVER NEVER seen that happen at Chesapeake. The coaches coach, and I don't think a single coach had a ref license.
But anyways. If you polled the entire league and asked where the worst place to play is I guarantee it would be RV.
They all live in the school district. Correct me if I am wrong, but you have to
live in the school district for 45 days in order to be considered a resident. Could be wrong. I think you are trying to reach because Collin came from Rose Hill I believe and E. Kennedy came from Spring Valley.
You going to go try and blow the whistle on Ironton, Portsmouth, and South Webster too? Give me a break. Kids transfer, it happens.
FHS,
I don't think you understand that their is a system in place at Chesapeake. Chesapeake has 3 big time scorers, they don't need a player like Fisher who takes a lot of shots himself in the starting lineup imo. They need someone who is a pass first shot second option. Thompson is 6'1, Fisher is 5'9, maybe 5'10. From a defensive perspective Thompson is much longer and a good athlete. I think everyone on Chesapeake's team knows their roles and it works very well, I don't think adding Fisher to the starting lineup would make it better. Him coming off the bench would make much more sense. Fisher is a 2, not a 1, and he is not replacing Copley. I would agree on Evan though, he would make a great 4.
I don't see this being a close game though. Chesapeake will have to be coooooold and Fairland hitting every outside shot. I think it will be much like it was last year.
Chesapeake was up nearly 30 at the half and still won by 22, when you have beaten the previous two teams by 50+ and then you are up nearly 30 at the half v SP, there can be serious let downs. I wouldn't read too much into it.
If that is the 2001-2002 season you are talking about Peake and RV played only one time that year... at RV. RV was still playing in the SEOAL at the time. Game was in the 50's, 4-5 pt win for Peake.
What you are saying is nothing but a lie.
Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
I apologize I thought we played twice, and yes we won by four or five, exactly like I said---I played in the game.
I also stand corrected on the one official, it was one official in the JV game, and two in the varsity. The track coach was one of the officials who sat on the rv bench the entire jv game.
Why would I make that up? I played for Chesapeake, I observed-cheered for them, and did the radio for several years. The worst place to play a game in conference is without a doubt RV. I have seen us and other teams play just about in every SEO gym including South Gallia's little shoe box, and RV's is imo the worst. The officials are the worst, the floor is tiny, should I go on.
None of this takes away from the fact that the move out of the OVC is great for both parties, you should be in the conference south gallia is in. Lets face it you are not competitive in the OVC
I am wrong again I guess.

That's why I said I didn't know if they had a house in both places........... They do still have their house in KY, not that it matters any if they have a residence in Chesapeake also.0 for Monday wrote:Colin has had an apartment right in the middle of Chesapeake since he transferred here a year ago. Chesapeake will be to much for Fairland, Chesapeake 82-60

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
Can we please get back to talking hoops!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As an earlier post stated.....kids/players transfer , move, whatever.....in OH, WV,KY California, all over. If the rules are followed, the governing body approves, it's all GOOD!!!!!!!! Cross-district is all the rage in Ohio.....Ironton never won anything in football without players from all around the area!!!!!!!!!!!!! If a program is worth the trouble and effort that these things require maybe others shouldn't be jealous BUT respect it and try to achieve what they are doing!!!!!!!!!! Back to HOOPS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
The panthers will be ready to go for this one. Fairland doesn't even come close to matching up with Chesapeake's size and athleticism. Nobody on Fairland's roster matches up with Colin or McMaster. And you can't forget about Copley, he hasn't scored as much as last year, but they don't need him to because there is a plethora of other guys on the team that can score. The panthers have usually at least 3 guys that score in double figures. So I'm going to sum everything up and say that Fairland will NOT win this game and don't really have a chance.
The panthers will win by 30+ at home. Chesapeake 77 Fairland 45

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
i think salyers comes close to one of their sizes.can't stop both but can do well on one of them plus none of there guards come close to fisher.so it's going to be closer
Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
LIke it or not........at least people are talking about the game again.........that's what should be happening on a basketball post!!!!!!!! I don't think I'm out to get anybody (buckeye) ........just speaking some truth....that seems to strike nerves with this crowd!!!!!! Got attacked for speaking my mind in another topic.........I don't expect people to agree BUT it is one thing to banter vs attack!!!!!! WHATEVER........

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
Who is Evan close to? Evan is 6'3, so he is close to Copley who is 6'2 and a guard. Kennedy is 6'7 and I am guessing that is who he will be defending, and he will give Collin a hard time because he is strong, descent athlete, will work hard for position in the post, and not back down or be intimidated, but who is he close to in terms of size? McMaster is 6'6 and plays outside, is he going to come outside and defend Austin, I doubt it.
If I think of all the players I have read/seen Chesapeake play against, Fisher wouldn't be in the top 5. Copley and McMaster don't come close to Fisher? You are talking about two college basketball players in Copley and McMaster.

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
Hintz and Thompson are very capable of stopping Fisher. Chad can hit shots if he's on. But the pressure that Hintz and Thompson will be providing will disrupt Fisher's game and get in his head I think. Thompson is just as quick as Fisher and his wing span will make it difficult for Chad to shoot over him.FHSstudentsection wrote:i think salyers comes close to one of their sizes.can't stop both but can do well on one of them plus none of there guards come close to fisher.so it's going to be closer
Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
I see alot of people chucking it up on this thread sending little laughy smiley faces,This is a rivalry game and I have seen stranger things happen,Some of you older Peake folks may remember the last game in the old Fairland gym when Peake got outscored something like 21-0 in the 2nd qtr!
