Haven't been on here in a dogs age...

Tournament time is nearly upon us. Basketball :30 is going to be a lot of fun this year, no matter who makes it.

Logan Elm picked up a big win last night against Teays Valley 49-39; I wonder if that will have an effect on their seed.

El savior... I believe correct me if I'm wrong but I think the games Marietta lost, were their only quality opponets.
What's been some of vinton counties quality wins?

VC plays Marietta so seeds don't matter.

The play in game will be Athens vs. New Lexington Monday Feb. 21, not sure of the time. I would say 6:30

The winner will play #1 seed Warren Wed. Feb.23 at 6:30

Marietta the #5 seed will play #4 seed Vinton County Wed. Feb. 23. at 8:00.

Marietta, Vinton Co. winner will play the winner of the Warren, Play in winner for a trip to the Convo.

Thats all I have for now. I hope I made it clear.

A lot of Washington Co. at Logan Wed. night. Good luck to both schools.

So much for awarding Vinton County for a win against a state-ranked team. Total blogna, in my opinion.

I agree with you 100% Ted Striker. Vinton County is 14-3 and just knocked off state ranked Piketon. I thought they were well deserved of at least the 3 seed. The two teams that come out of this sectional will definately have earned it.

I would love to see a third Marietta vs Warren game FOR A TRIP TO THE CONVO. This has got me very excited. Tigers have to get business done and take down VC.

Sheridan will play their league title game against John Glenn the night before they play Gallia Academy in the sectional opener. Sheridan is a strong team, very athletic and physical.

The Logan Sectional is a b...iatch! Heck, this district is a b...iatch! First look at the number of double-digit win teams in the Logan sectional; five of nine, Warren 15-2, Sheridan 15-2, Vinton County 14-3, Logan Elm 14-4, and Marietta 13-6. Now looking at the districts; another five out of the Southeastern sectional; Chillicothe 15-3, Miami Trace 14-4, Unioto 12-6, Washington Court House 11-6, and Hillsboro 11-7. Ten of the eighteen teams have winning records. Whoever makes it out of those sectionals and the final team out of the district is going to earn it. My goodness! :aaaaa17

Therefore, bring on the super-sectional knuckleheads. :aaaaa39

Howdie, Hawkeye. Don't worry we still have the D3 Athens sectional to point at.

Fairfield Union, McClain, and Waverly are all good teams under double-digits wins as well!

McClain has won 8 of 11 since starting off 0-7 and just beatdown Miami Trace this past week.

The games at the Convo for D2 should be outstanding basketball games, as I wouldn't say that there is an overly weak team in the whole district and the top half is very, very strong.

What I like about Tournament time is all the talk about seeding, records, losses, and so on can only last so long until you have to prove it on the court. Win and advance, Lose and done!

That being said, I am looking forward to the Vinton County vs. Marietta match-up. Is Vinton County disrespected and underseeded? How about Marietta's 6 losses all to 3 very good teams?Should be a good one!

The number 3 seed was defeated last night by the number 6 seed, 45-37. It just goes to show you how tough this sectional is going to be. I rest my case, this sectional is a b...iatch!

I will admit that I don't really understand how team seeding is done for tournament play, but it seems like it is strictly on team record, not on strength of schedule. If this is the case, how can the drawings be accurate when some teams have 2-3 games to play AFTER the pairings? A lot can change in 3 games....
