Throw seeds 3-6 in a jar, shake it, dump it, and whomever comes out could beat the other 3 teams and it wouldn't be considered an upset.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
How many games have you seen Caldwell play in? You just base things off of record. I'm not saying they're better than Frontier or anything like that, but it is possible to improve and still not pick up W's. Caldwell's coach has even said they've been playing their best basketball so far this season the past few games. They're not getting blown out like they were. They've been in pretty much every game as of late.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
Shadyside did beat Bridgeport and gave Bellaire a quality game from what I've been told. I believe teams 2-7 in this sectional are all similar. Caldwell split with #2 River, #3 Beallsville, #5 Frontier. Pretty even pairings. If the Redskins get lucky enough to get by Shadyside they will get a chance to play D4 #1 state ranked Rosecrans. Oppurtunity for the younger kids to see what it takes to play at that level.

after seeing the pilot get waxed tonight. i'll go out on a limb and say frontier has a very good chance at beating the pilots next tuesday.

wow. I have never seen fans either talk negatively about their team or straight up give up on them as much as river fans do.

I drain,
you don't follow the team, you wouldnt understand. its very frustrating. some nights they are unstoppable the next they look like a jv team. this game was worse than last week at river, AND THEY HAD A WEEK TO PREPARE.

Talking negatively about them does nothing to help. Players/teams have bad games, it happens. You can't expect them to play exactly the way you expect every game. It's just not going to happen. I've seen this with River fans in football too. Soon as they lose a couple games, they start throwing players/coaches under the bus. There is no need to. While i'm not saying you can't be critical of them, at least offer your support for them still. True fans support their teams regardless of whether they win or lose.RatPack wrote:I drain,

nah not me. i tell it like it is. i guess i should have seen this coming. The team has 3 wins against teams with winning records. 2 of those wins come from beallsville whom i don't consider quality wins as they play the sisters of the poor. the only quality win was MC the 2nd game of the year.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
There is a difference between being realistic, and being a poor excuse for a fan. The way you've talked, i'm assuming your not a member of the team. It's easy to sit in the stands and criticize players/teams/coaches. You're not out on the floor. You don't go through the practices or anything else like that. You're not going through slumps like players may be, and you don't have any pressure on you to perform the way people expect you to every night. These are high school kids, not professional athletes. They are very far from perfect. If I was a player, I would tell you straight up. If you don't or won't support us when we need you the most (the down times), then don't bother supporting us when were playing well. No need for fair weather fans.
Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
Listen i played for the pilots, so yes i know what its like to be a member of a team, to go through slumps, and to have pressure on you to meet high expectactions. i'm not a fair whether fan i'm just telling it like it is.
bottom line the pilots game plan for the game was poor. this is a run and gun team, not a slowed down 2 -3 work the ball around and bore the defense to sleep until you get a backdoor layup. they aren't built for that style of play. if they dont go back to the run and gun and press defense they wont make it out of sectionals.
and if you want to get on people about critizing, why dont you look at some quotes in todays paper.

Anyone know anything about Shadyside other then record? Heard the brown kid is a nice player. They have played teams like Bellaire and River decently this season.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
Caldwell/Shadyside have a lot of common opponents: River, Barnesville, Shenandoah, Monroe Central. It's missing a few games, but looking at their schedule on maxpreps, their closest games were against River on Jan 4th and Barnesville on Feb 4th, both 8 point losses. They lost all the other to those opponents by double digits. Maxpreps has their only win as coming against Bridgeport by 4 points.

Shadyside (1-18) just lost to Cameron WV (7-12) 78-47.Caldwell should win this game by 10 plus if they keep head on straight.
