Once again another key T.V.C. match-up. Every one of these league games determines who will win a share of the championship or who could win it outright.
Vinton Co. is playing great team basketball that is very defencive oriented. Nelsonville coming off a win at home with Athens but, have lost 8 straight before that. If the Vikings play sound defence as they have pretty much all season their offense doesn't even need to be fully there.

This game has trap written all over it for VC. All three of VC's loses have been on the road this year...and the Vikes are coming off a four game home win streak. In those three road loses, VC started out flat and never recovered. This might be a little closer then people think.

Actually NY just came off of a loss to Logan and they still have to play alex before they get to VC.Maroon Shorts wrote:Comments?

When is the last time Nelsonville-York beat VC. I know VC lost on a last second shot during the 05-06 season. Have the Buckeyes pulled one off since then?

Jay Edwards' buzzer-beating 45-footer in 2005 was the last time NY beat VC. That was the 1st meeting between the two teams that season. VC then beat NY by double digits at NY.Sid Farkus wrote:When is the last time Nelsonville-York beat VC. I know VC lost on a last second shot during the 05-06 season. If I remember that game correctly, VC had a senior guard who was torched by a freshman (Barrick, maybe?) that played for Nelsonville-York. Does that sound familiar, Ted?

If I remember correctly, I think that senior guard played pretty well against NY in both meetings, Sid. And, defense was never his niche.

Yeah, offensively. However, he had his head turned while Mr. Edwards was receiving the inbound pass from Barrick and then BAM! Two dribbles and the rest is history, and I have the film to prove it.

I remember that game and that guard from VC....a dark-haired boy. You're right he couldn't play defense or handle the ball. All I remember about him was that he loved to chuck up three's.Sid Farkus wrote:If I remember that game correctly, VC had a senior guard who was torched by a freshman (Barrick, maybe?) that played for Nelsonville-York. Oh, yes he was. He was suppose to guard the inbound pass, but he was to busy directing traffic or something.Ted Striker wrote:He was nowhere near that final play. Roll that tape.

First mistake: him guarding the inbounder.
Second mistake: you used the wrong form of the word "too". Doctorate programs frown upon poor use of the English language.

Quit living in the past.....keep your eye on the prize Vikes.
VC needs to come out strong Friday night and, at least, claim a share.
