1. Portsmouth (Hot team and undefeated since getting floor general, LOCK DOWN defender and senior AB back. Lots of options scoring wise as AB & Co. helps keep teams honest defensively. Wayne Evans also can light up the scoreboard along with Dion who canals step back and hit a 3 and draw an opposing BIG away from the basket.)
2. Chillicothe (Impressive defense. Not very deep but has talent. Would like to see them make a deep run. If they get more help offensively they can be VERY scary good)
3a. Warren (Quick team with a star in Cunningham surround by great outside shooters and Venham down low who will go toe to toe with any big in SEO)
3b. Chesapeake (very fast paced team, lots of options scoring and McMasters has been steady. Conference isn't very good but some good non-conference games. If I had to find a weak point it could be their on the ball D and bigs defensive play in the post, but other than that they are solid and will make a deep run)
5. Piketon (decent conference schedule and some challenging non conference. Legg is the straw that stirs the drink and a great player. Like Chilly would like to see more offensive production from others. If they do that they can have a deep run)
6. Logan Elm (Haven't seen them but have heard they are balanced scoring and really get after it on the defensive end.)
7. Peebles (very high powered offense. Justice seems like he's been around for a while! Great player and fun to watch! Has Countryman and others to help chip in. Defense can be very spotty from what I've heard as I haven't seen them but in summer ball. Can be a very dangerous team and a team you don't want to go in a shootout with.)
8. Ironton (Toughest schedule and some of the toughest kids around. They play hard nosed and are VERY young. This Tiger team is really good this year wait till that sophomore class becomes jrs and srs. WOW! Can be a tough out in the tourney and may knock off a few higher seeds on their way to a deep run.)

All 8 are very solid and I have a feeling will be around come 3 week in march.

babyface,

Come on, no need to mock people. Very classless. I agree with most of what you say about the poll situation, people will put their home school higher most of the time.

I don't think anyone is calling out anyone in particular, but it is obvious when you look at the polls in a very small few why certain people are upset with Chesapeake being ranked as low as 4th. I am not saying there is anything wrong with anyone's opinion, your opinion is your opinion, put Chesapeake at 50th if you please, but I do understand why others feel certain poll voters are purposely sabotaging the polls or at least sending a point to another school. Anyways, vote on, this will be an interesting last few weeks, and I am ready for the tournament so we can put it all to rest :-D

This is for "babyface" NICE post.........since you need to know, that's the age my kids are and as many of my friends told me, "you'll get back into coaching 'cause all these wannabes who are living out some unfulfilled fantasy..will be coaching @ that level....." Guess what, they were right!!!!! I don't know everything but I know what I see and read on these things.that's why I started posting instead of just reading..I say Chiili should be #1 I didn't say Peake should be 1......Homer???? I can be objective...keep your smart___ comments to yourself!!!!!!!! I was talking to peake...THANKS for your infinite wisdom...... AND I don't really care who C-peake or anyone else has to play......Respect all....Fear none!!!!!!!!!!!

And you are correct.....people are not going to agree on polls and I don't remember implying that.......the point I was making is the argument of schedule comparison is often used here to try to prove a point but when others use that for a differnet team, they seem to get "beat" down or mocked...trying to understand that logic!!!!!!!!

1. Portsmouth (hottest team...undefeated since the return of Bendolph)
2. Chesapeake ( a good solid team, not a very tough league, good non-conf. schedule)
3. Chillicothe (very talented, but not very deep, will make a deep tourney run)
4. Warren (very solid team, good schedule, will soon have to prove it!)
5. Piketon (a terrible loss to a good D2 team, but 15-1, decent non-conf. schedule)
6. Logan Elm (good team, but nothing like the past, riding off past success)
7. Peebles ( Justice & Co.) toughest games vs. D4 opponents, weak schedule.
8. Ironton (over-rated by some) toughest schedule on the list, just average talent that plays hard.
The Rest: Burg was up and coming until the SW loss, Oak Hill drops after injuries, Fairland decent team but not quite there yet, Unioto enjoyed early success, but dwindled after the WCH/Piketon back-to-back losses, Vinton County at 12-3 plays hard and will be in every game. South Webster beat Portsmouth/Burg/Clay, but had a couple of bad losses.

Nice post Jimmy and I like the reasoning of your picks. I might have to go back and add that to mine. Nevertheless good post. Also I hope to catch Piketon play soon before the end of the season. Saw Legg in summer ball and he can flat out play.
