Re: GREEN VS WHITEOAK
Whiteoak played one of the toughest D4 schedules around. They lost a few games they maybe could of won against pretty highly touted teams. One thing that shows their schedule strength is that I think they have only lost 3 games in D4....one to an impressive Williamsburg team, once to Fairfield, and once to #1 seed Manchester.
They led D3 Oak Hill by 17 before losing very late in the game. They took D2 Hillsboro (#3 seed in sectional) to OT. They played 1 loss D3 Peebles EXTREMELY tight both games this year before losing in the very end by close margins. They lost to #3 seed D3 paint Valley by 6 early in the year. They defeated Manchester by 14 points. They beat Fairfield early in the year. They beat D3 Eastern Brown pretty handily. They beat D3 Lynchburg Clay and D3 West Union. They have also beaten D4 Fayetteville twice and New Boston by 35 in a holiday tourney. D3 North Adams has beaten them twice with the final time Whiteoak's best player was not in the game the last 10 minutes of the game.
They are battle-tested and pretty athletic. They could lose to Green and they could also make a pretty significant tourney run.
Whiteoak went to the regionals in 2000, 2002 and 2003. Final 4 in 2002 and Elite 8 in 2003. Advanced to the districts every year from 2000-2007.

They are not very tall but have a couple guys in the post with some athleticism. Their best player Joe Micheal is the tallest player on the team at like 6'2" or 6'3".jeremyghs05 wrote:sounds like green will have their hands full! does anyone know how tall the players from whiteoak are?

Great summary. I don't know much about Green. What's their story?Ironman92 wrote:Whiteoak played one of the toughest D4 schedules around. Re: GREEN VS WHITEOAK
It sounds like that Whiteoak is as good or better than anybody Green has played all year.
Best of luck to the Bobcats.

Green has only 6 varsity players for the most part and have only one kid over 6' but they play very hard and compete on every possession.

Thanks sparky for finding my error.......Williamsburg is usually D4??? They are also very good this year....typically one of the games Whiteoak could always count on a win.

ironman,
with all of the new small community schools popping up in the inner cities it is causing teams that used to be d4 to now be d3.
