I'm pretty sure soccer is a physical sport and we dominate that year after year.
Maybe the reason oak hill and a couple of other schools suck at sports such as baseball and track is because they aren't able to take the advantage of pushing people around. They are a good basketball team but I think if they just played the game and didn't try to hurt players in the process, they might make it past the burg in tournaments this year.
This is the only time I will ever congratulate Wheelersburg for a job well done. They play the game the way it was meant to be played. They earned the SOC title.

You show your ignorance when you say Oak Hill tries to hurt people. Quit whining---you're embarrassing yourself.

Oak Hill committed 3 fouls the entire game. 1 in the first 3 quarters and then were whistled for 2 fouls in the first minute of the 4th quarter.

32 minutes-----3 fouls. Incredible. And, I still think we could have won that game if we would have shot better.

Learn from it and move on!
I wasn't there, but three fouls in an entire HS basketball game is VERY unusual.

I was not there. All I can say is that Oak Hill had only ten fouls when Wheelersburg played them at Oak Hill and five of them were by Drew and Austin so without them they would have had only five. Three seems low but Oak Hill seem to (at least in the past) play a lot of zone defense.

Nobody getting embarrassed here Dean. I tell the truth and some people can't handle it.

Like someone already said...oh went in down two starters...webster should have easily been able to take the game over...fouls or not...basketball is a physical sport...things get rough sometimes...some refs allow it, others wont let the kids brush up against another...boys gotta be able to deal with and push past the adversity...

I went to the Valley-Oak Hill game last Friday at Oak Hill and the Indians won a low scoring game while only shooting 3 or 4 free throws. Oak Hill plays almost 100% zone and really slow the game down with their lack of depth and their strength being their frontcourt. This whining about officials is hilarious! I got on this thread to read how this game played out and all I see is a bunch of

And not to get into a soccer-football debate, but football and soccer require a different amount of physicality... You don't see much bulking up and power lifting being done in preperation for soccer season. Strength is definately require, but it seems to me that endurance is more valued in soccer. Kids that double as football-basketball players normally have a little more bulk and willingness to mix it up. That doesn't always make a better basketball player, but it can make a difference against teams that don't have a lot of size up front.

There may have only been 10 fouls called but believe me there were more than that committed. Everyone in the SOC knows what you're going to get when you play at Oak Hill. I don't care what type of defense you're playing you're going to commit more than 3 fouls in the entire game. Sounds like a Jackson County homer to me.

This has happened against South Webster for several straight years now. If you go back to last year and read the posts from South Webster fans it was all about their inability to attack the zone. they even admitted that all they did was stand around and pass the ball around the three point line and then throw up some 3's. If you don't attack the zone then there are not going to be many fouls called. Of the 3 fould that were called 2 were on Oak Hill's point guard, which tells me they probably happened when Webster was playing catch around the outside of the zone.

bo diaz: your post is exactly correct and love the name by the way.

Last year isn't relevant. We attacked it hard and no call was made

I NEVER like to be critical of any team since they are made up of teenagers and especially when it is my Jeeps.
But foul descrepancy or not, the Jeeps CAN'T lose that game!!
Oak Hill is down 2 players. If you are the Jeeps and you have aspirations - and the talent - to make a deep run in the tourney, games like this HAVE to be won. No excuses!

There are 2 weeks before the tourney. The talent is there. Now go out and start working harder to be a more cohesive offensive team. There is something missing. Just little things here and there that if the guys can improve on, they can really be dangerous.
I believe in you guys! I know you can do it!
