Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
Green and Webster both would have to make it to the regionals
for them to play again this season.

Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
Rooting for the SOC1 in this one! I believe that Tuesdays matchups will be some of the best in the tourney with Clay/Fairfield and Green/whiteoak playing at Valley that night. Looking forward to some good basketball in Valley's Gym on Tuesday Night.
Valley's Gym is definitely not a shooter's gym----although the rims seem a little more forgiving than they used to be.

True. The match-ups are such that I think 3 teams from the area will make it to the Regionals.flash wrote:Green and Webster both would have to make it to the regionals

Very good chance someone from the Southeast could make it to Columbus.
Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
Division 4 gets 2 teams to the Regionals. They place each other in the Regional Semi at the Convo on March 15th. The winner moves to the Regional Final at the Barn.
Division 3 gets 3 teams to the Regionals with the 4th being from the East District. This regional is played at the Convo. (semis and finals)

Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
Not sure gym size will matter as long as the rm is 10 foot and the ball is round the game is the same. Looking forward to this night for the SHL. Anyone know if both games are on the radio?
Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
I too think that the Tuesday matchups will be some of the best played at Valley. I am looking forward to the SOC/SHL shootout. I'll be rooting for the SHL, but I think it will be two very good games!

5 largest gyms in the county:
Valley 1877 Maximum Occupancy within Fire Code
South Webster 1864 MOWFC
Wheelersburg 1848 MOWFC
Northwest 1762 MOWFC
Oak Hill 1749
Green bottom of the county with 1102. Conclusion... Small Gym.

Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
What SP said was that Green would loses because
of the size of the gym, Green's floor isn't small
they play on the floor so how many the place seats
doesn't matter. SP also said that because Green gym
was small was why the Jeeps didn't blow them away he
didn't want to give Green credit for playing a good game.

I've always thought Green's gym size was more than adaquate.jazzhands88 wrote:5 largest gyms in the county:

If you take in consideration the extremely small size of the student population then the gym is HUGE!
Maximum capicity a realitive number.

Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
Greens floor is huge and just as big as any SOC2 school..... Greens Gym seating is 1400 and that's not including the stage where the band sits or the corners of the gym where the old-timers sit..... Plus it's the best atmosphere to play in anywhere in the county............. GO CATS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDJS9rFGCHE

I agree with you Reel-Trea, Green certainly does have a great atmosphere. Smaller the gym, the louder it gets when fans cheer. That's one loud cracker box!!!

Re: GREEN/WHITEOAK
I think when there is mention of gym size affecting the play of the game it is the size of the floor, not the seating. New Boston and East have small floors sizes. Definitley changes style of play as opposed to the large floor size at Valley. Number of seats has no bearing on style of play. IMO.
